Crimea’s Authorities Invite UN Delegation To Assess Human Rights And Apologize

Alexey Pavlishak/TASS

The news agency TASS reports (source):

Representatives of countries, which backed Ukraine’s resolution at the United Nations on alleged human rights violations in Crimea, should first visit the region and apologize for the earlier claims, First Deputy Parliament Speaker Efim Fix told TASS on Sunday.

“You should set up a commission and let it come to Crimea. They can visit any settlements they wish and no one will create any programs,” Fix said. “It’s a shame that the countries vote for a resolution without knowing the essence of the issue. If they don’t see any human rights violations, they should come to Lenin Square in Simferopol (the central square in the Crimean capital) and apologize before the crowd for those excesses they commit jointly with Ukraine,” he stressed.

The UN General Assembly on Saturday passed the Ukrainian resolution condemning alleged human rights violations in Crimea and “illegal establishment of laws, jurisdiction and administration” in the region. The UNGA’s fifth committee in charge of economic issues has refused to allocate funds to implement this decision.

The document, suggested by Kiev, was backed by 67 delegations this year, or five fewer than in 2017. Among those who supported the resolution were the United States, the European Union member-states, Turkey and Japan. Some 27 delegations voted against the document, including Russia, Belarus, China, India, Serbia, Syria, the Republic of South Africa, Nicaragua and Venezuela, while 70 countries abstained.

The Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, a city with a special status on the Crimean Peninsula, where most residents are Russians, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the authorities in Kiev who seized power amid riots during a coup in Ukraine in February 2014.

Crimea and Sevastopol adopted declarations of independence on March 11, 2014. They held a referendum on March 16, 2014, in which 96.77% of Crimeans and 95.6% of Sevastopol voters chose to secede from Ukraine and join Russia. The Russian president signed the reunification deals on March 18, 2014. Despite the convincing results of the referendum, Kiev refused to recognize Crimea as part of Russia.

That’s okay, Crimea doesn’t need the permission of Ukrop Zionazis to exist.

occupybacon

And what if the invitation will be declined?

Barba_Papa

If you’re not prepared to investigate your own claims then they’re obviously not worth the ink they are printed with.

occupybacon

Based on your logic since Russians were not invited in Kiev to investigate anything in 2014, they can’t know there was a coup or not.

Tudor Miron

Than they will simply admit that they lie and their resolution has nothing to do with reality.

occupybacon

Then why do you care about those liars?

Tudor Miron

I don’t care about liars, I’m wprried that their lies are poisoning this beautiful planet

occupybacon

So you’re a global sustainability supporter :)

Tudor Miron

If you say so :)

Dick Von Dast'Ard

If it wasn’t Crimea, it would be just something else the Atlantacist freaks would be using as a source of tension over.

Smaug

I think they’ll find conditions exactly identical to pre-Maiden Crimea, but the Crimeans are being very undiplomatic with this request.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Pompous declarations without first hand evidence are a total waste of time. Do you remember that Kerch Bridge that was said to be impossible to build, as both the Nazis and Soviets had failed? That’s why the NATO-Kiev Neo-Nazis ranted that Putin needed a land corridor to Crimea via Zhapporozia and Kherson oblasts. How’s all that farting going, by the way? Well, now there is a shiny new Kerch Bridge that the Banderised Maidanists are insanely jealous of. What has Banderised Ukraine built since the Maidan???

dutchnational

You mean the bridge that already had a piece collapsing?

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

But, but, but, the Russians don’t build anything, right? You are just another anti-Russian RACIST, typical of violent Western expansionists, exceptionalists and supremacists. Still itching for a re-fight with Russia after the Dutch SS Waffen brigades received such a beating during WW2???

Tudor Miron

Their (banderized maidawns) problem is that they wasn’t even planing to build anything. Looting of their own people was their only plan.

iosongasingsing

Not only the Crimea, all of Ukraine is part of Russia, for 1000 years now. The Jewish coup Nuland is a copy of the one made for Serbian Kosovo. Poroscenko is a US puppet like any South American dictator, they even postponed the elections because he would lose them and now the IMF gives him money despite the 115 billion debt Ukraine can not repay the debt to Russia or pay the gas. And to think that for the Greeks the IMF Nazis demanded tears and blood.

dutchnational

In fact russia was part of Kiev Rus, not the other way around. Moscow did not even exist at the time Kiev was already a great city.

Tudor Miron

Kiev Rus, you moron :) Rus – don’t you hear you own words?

dutchnational

After a fake referendum in which pressure was put on ukrainians ( ten to 15%) and Tatars ( 13%) to vote for taking away their rights, 98% or so voted for secession in an illegal referendum. No ways would majority of Tatars have voted for becoming Russian. They just hate Russians, that took away their lands in and after wwII and deported them into the wild steppes of Kazakhstan, killing many of them, after having done the same to ukrainians in the 30ies.

Tudor Miron

Just shut up :) Fake referendum? Come to Crimea and repeat your lies into faces of Crimeans. I would suggest that you direct your attention to Syria – some nice things are happening there on the eastern bank of the Euphrates. Honestly, I feel sorry for you dutchy. It must be painful to see that your selling your soul didn’t pay out the way you expected.

viktor ziv

“human rights violations in Crimea”, what about human rights violations in Odessa 2014, what about human rights violations in Donbass. I can’t erase the picture from my mind of young mom with small kid killed in a park after Grad attack (Lugansk).

Tommy Jensen

Try to focus. One at a time.

Weird, how the MSM, plus, Western Leaders, demonise this man?

Happy Christmas.

Tommy Jensen

Sorry guys, but even Russia makes mistakes. There are UN human rights violations by Russia going on in Crimea as documented facts. Not in relation to the Ukrainian/Crimea issue, but in relation to religious minorities.

Tudor Miron

Documented facts??? May I ask that you provide us with links to this “documents”?

Tommy Jensen

Of course.https://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/

Despite the convincing results of the referendum, Kiev refused to recognize Crimea as part of Russia.

Shocking. Boris Nemtsov explains in his investigation of Russia in Ukraine how the Russian invasion forces forced the referendum in Crimea at the point of a gun (Putin. War):

As for how “voluntary” the return [of Crimea] was, Igor Girkin, the former Defense Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, recounted on January 22, 2015, on the program “Polit-Ring,” broadcast by the online channel Neyromir-TV.

By his own account, Girkin arrived in Crimea on February 21, 2014. “I did not see any support from organizers of state power in Simferopol, where I was located. The militia gathered the deputies [of the Supreme Soviet of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea], I don’t know how else to say it. It was to force them into the building, so they would adopt it (a decision on conducting the referendum on the entrance of Crimea to the Russian Federation).” We 23 note that the events described by Girkin (Strelkov) took place on February 27, 2014, immediately after a number of strategic objectives had been taken over by Russian Special Forces on the night of February 26- 27, including the parliament building, where, at gunpoint, with no media present and without the video broadcast of sessions as specified by law, the deputies supposedly voted to hold a referendum.

Putin oversaw the invasion personally. Russia illegally annexed Crimea. They broke their own agreement on Ukraine which recognized the territorial integrity of Ukraine including Crimea (Budapest Memorandum). They broke international which the 2008 Medvedev Doctrine specifically called for Russia to uphold:

First, Russia recognizes the primacy of the fundamental principles of international law, which define the relations between civilized peoples. We will build our relations with other countries within the framework of these principles and this concept of international law.
