Denmark with its small population and army was not capable of standing up to Germany. France which was much larger and more prepared with the aid of the British didn’t last long either before going for a swim at Dunkirk or surrendering . It took years for the tide to turn and Russia took the brunt of the action and the brunt of the German might which left little for the allies to face at Normandy. Had Hitler not attacked Russia and held the line in Poland and their forces were in Italy and France instead would the allies lasted very long in Normandy or would they have more likely been pushed back into the sea..
