The wave of attacks continues in Europe. One more assassination attempt took place in France, while the dozens of radicals vandalized church in Vienna.
A gunman shot and injured a Greek Orthodox priest at a church in the French city of Lyon.
According to different sources, the priest was attacked when he was leaving the church. The victim suffered two gunshot wounds, and received treatment on site. The attacker was allegedly armed with a sawn-off hunting rifle.
The incident took place in the Place Jean-Macé area in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon at around 4pm local time. The security forces have been deployed on the scene. However, the attacker managed to flee the scene. The public has been told to avoid the area and follow instructions from the authorities.

The incident came amid the knife attack in Nice, that claimed life of three french citizens. The attack was carried out by a Tunisian in the church of Notre Dame de Nice. The previously unknown group “Al-Mahdi in the south of Tunisia” claimed responsibility for the incident.
The same day an Afghan with a thirty-centimeter knife in his hand was arrested near the station in Lyon. Another attack took place in Saudi Arabia, near the Consulate General of France in the city of Jedah. The security guard was injured, more casualties were avoided.

On October 29, 50 men of Turkish origin staged a pogrom in the Catholic Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Vienna, Austria. It was reported by the Kurier newspaper with reference to police data.
The attackers shouted “Allah Akbar”, they smashed pews and the altar. The priest of the church called the police, but the assailants managed to escape before law enforcement arrived. According to the portal, the episode was recorded on video.
“All Christians must have a right to freely and safely practice their faith in Austria! We will firmly continue the fight against political Islam and refrain from false tolerance here”, – Chancellor Sebastian Kurz have condemned the incident in Twitter.
Earlier in June, a series of protests took place in the streets of Vienna, when Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of Austria had ordered the closing of seven mosques. The scrutiny was carried out to define the right of dozens of Turkish imams to remain in the country.
