Drones, Rockets Hit Three U.S. Bases In Eastern And Northern Syria (Video)

Three bases of the United States in Syria were reportedly targeted with drones and rockets in response to the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

The first attack targeted the al-Tanf garrison in southeastern Syria on November 10. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) claimed responsibility for the attack and released footage showing the launch of a suicide drone at the garrison. Reuters reported, citing U.S. sources, that the drone was intercepted.

On November 11, the IRI announced that it had launched two suicide drones at a U.S. base located near the town of Rmelan in the northeastern Syrian governorate of al-Hasakah. Syrian media reported blasts and a fire at the base.

On the same day, a rocket attack targeted the U.S. Khrab al-Jir base, which is also located in al-Hasakah. However, the IRI didn’t claim responsibility for the attack.

Before the last three attacks, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh told reporters that there have been 46 separate attacks on U.S. bases, 24 in Iraq and 22 in Syria. The attacks have injured at least 56 U.S. troops at the bases, Singh revealed.

Since the attacks on U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq began on October 17, the U.S. has retaliated with two strikes in the eastern Syria governorate of Deir Ezzor. The first occurred October 26 and the second happened on November 8.

The increase in attacks comes as the Israeli military is expanding its ground operations in Gaza with direct support from the U.S.

The attacks on U.S. bases have already forced Washington to deploy more than 1,200 troops and a dozen air defense systems in the Middle East. However, the main object is apparently to pressure the U.S. into ending its support for the Israeli war on Gaza, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 11,000 civilians.
