Egyptian warplanes”sometimes” use Israeli airspace to carry out airstrikes on terrorists in the framework of the ongoing anti-terrorist campaign in Egypt’s North Sinai region, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed in an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes. During the same interview, the President confirmed that the Egyptian military is in contact with Israel over its operation against terrorists in North Sinai.
Over the past few years, Israeli media outlets have disseminated multiple rumors speculating that Israelli jets carry out strikes on terrorist targets in Egypt. However, these rumors have never been denounced by the Egyptian military. Now, it appears that it’s in fact Egyptian jets use Israeli airspace.
Or it is just cover to protect the Israeli jets that are in fact the ones dropping bombs in Sinai. Haha
I think Sisis is helping out its Israeli buddies. If he was going through Israeli airspace why hasn’t he given any info/codes he gleaned to his Russian buddies?

Why would Egypt use Israeli airspace to bomb ISIS positions in Northern Sinai? Sinai peninsula belongs to Egypt and they can fly over their own territory to reach the northern fringes of Sinai.

Its well known for several years, that Egypt and Israel share problems in Sinai and therefor help each other. I have it from danish-Israelians journalist living i Israel, so its no secret even they dont advertize with pictures.
If Isis cells are close to Israeli border, fighter jets traveling high speed can inadvertently cross into Israeli space so this may be an agreement to tolerate incursions in the context of anti-terrorist operations. However, proximity to Dimona that Israel is ultra-sensitive about has me very surprised that this would be allowed.
Egyptian F16’s can fly over the Mediteranean and approach northern Sinai flying parallel to the Israeli border without any intrusion.
That is true and certainly the intent of the pilots. Pilots also can fly without causing a mid-air collision but such accidents do happen. Pilots do not intend to fire on friendly troops but it does happen. The International Committee of the Red Cross has guidelines on sovereignty of neutral states and incursion, recognizing accidental and deliberate do happen which in conflict settings is common.
You are implying that all incursions are deliberate but it is internationally recognized accidental incursions happen such as the 747 shot down in 1983 as it went off course into Soviet air space. Pilots can approach their Korean destination without touching Soviet air space but it happened. Just as the error that caused New Zealand crash famous for survivors eating the dead passengers. Doubt that was intentional.
I am not implying that all incursions are deliberate, stuff happens at times for whatever reasons, I was noting that Egyptian aircraft had an easy approach and the common border runs north/south at a slight angle in a straight line. The border is not convoluted like the Turkish border was when the Russian Suk 24 supposedly invaded Turkish airspace,
