End Of Reconciliation Process In Syria's Daraa Was Marked By Attack On Convoy Of Russian Military Police

The main stage of the reconciliation process ended in the Syrian Daraa. The settling of militants’ status have been completed in all areas in Daraa countryside within the agreement reached by the militants and Damascus officials.

On October 25, the last settlement center was opened at al-Mahata Police Department in Daraa City to receive those who want to settle their status from different areas across the province. It remains the only active center in the province.

The reconciliation processes was launched by Syrian authorities and Russian Military Police in August. It started from Daraa al-Balad and involved several villages and towns, including al-Yadouda, Mzeireb, Tafas, Tal Shihab and towns of al-Yarmouk Basin, and was later spread in the whole countryside.

As a result of the process, more than 13,000 people have returned to their normal life, more than 4,000 units of heavy and light weapons and more than 100,000 various ammunition were handed.

The second stage will include works to restore war-damaged buildings, infrastructure, industrial and agricultural enterprises.

An explosive device went off on the route of a convoy of Russian military police in the area of the village of Umm al-Mayadin in the Syrian province of Daraa. Russian servicemen were not injured.
