On June 17, the European Union extended for a year a ban on business dealings with Russia’s Republic of Crimea, that reunified with Russia in 2014 in a move that has not been recognized, internationally.
The sanctions prolonged until June 23, 2017. They prohibit imports of products from Crimea, investment there, cooperation in tourism services and xports of some goods and services to the peninsula.
Next week, it’s expected that the EU will extend its broader economic sanctions on Russia over its alleged role in the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Don’t think Russia gives a stuff anymore as the pivot to the East means access to a far bigger market than Europe. Especially for oil and gas. The Europeans are drowning in bigotry and controlled by the US.
