Family Feud Leads To New Round Of Infighting In Turkish-Occupied Afrin

A family feud has led to new round of infighting among Turkish-backed militants in the occupied area of Afrin in northern Aleppo.

The heavy clashes, which erupted on March 25 morning, took place in the district of al-Ashrafiyah in the city center of Afrin.

The Step News Agency, a pro-opposition outlet, said the clashes were the result of a dispute among members of the Osu family, who fight in the ranks of the 51st Division. The group is a part of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).

“The fighting was limited to members of the Osu family … It was a result of a family dispute among them that developed into clashes with heavy weapons, which led to the intervention of the al-Shamiya Front that attempted to stop the clashes,” the agency’s reporter said.

A militant identified as Ahmad Zakariya Helal was killed as result of the clashes. Many other militants were reportedly injured.

Such incidents became very common in the Turkish-occupied parts of northern Syria, especially in Afrin. Many Turkish-backed militants were killed as a result of infighting over the last few years.

The Turkish military is doing nothing to prevent internal conflicts in Afrin and other areas under its occupation. This is leading to a state of lawlessness in these areas.

That’s just terrible. :) On the bright side, popcorn is still available.

Must have been stealing each other’s goats again. They guard their lovers jealously.

LOL, family feud, is it really, gee and I thought it was just the Turkish legal system and the new Idlib police force operating as normal. And there’s plenty more to come too, because just like the coronavirus multiplies itself every day in ever increasing increments, so will the fanatics tally of disputes, they never ever forget any perceived injustices and always crave restitution or revenge, they may bite their tongues and put their hands in their pockets when they have to, but that tally of injustices just keeps building up until they finally explode. Without the SAA to keep them occupied the terrorists will have too much time on their hands, coupled with their misguided sense of God given entitlement, their childish bouts of rage, revenge, and opportunism, and the fact they only have each other to take out their frustrations now, they’ll be eating each other alive in no time, and no matter what Erdogan does to try and stop it, some things are just eneviatable. Hopefully Assad’s doing whatever he can behind the scenes to aggravate the situation, I’m sure there’s a lot of things he can do to stir that pot of madmen into a complete frenzy, they could even end up hating each other even more than they hate Assad if Assad plays his cards right. Why fight a war if you don’t need to, just let them stew in their own juices for a while, let them thin out their own ranks and save the SAA the trouble, and also let them show the UN and the International community just how moderate they really are, I’m sure they make an unforgettable impression.
