The US Federal Bureau of Investigation may prepare a provocation against Russia in the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.
“It looks as if the American intelligence agencies are trying to organize an anti-Russian provocation and may even plant compromising material in the building or discover them somehow in the future. Because we don’t have the foggiest idea of what they are doing now,” Zakharova said.
She added that the FBI has instaled “special equipment has been installed, and some works are underway.”
“This behavior is inappropriate for an entity based on international law and a permanent member of the UN Security Council that pioneered the modern system of international relations,” the diplomat said. “Unfortunately, it threatens to morph into not just an incident, but a new American practice.”
Zakharova noted that these US actions violate fundamental diplomatic immunity provisions and are destabilizing “not just Russian-American relations, but the global international order as well.”
Possibly the best option for Russia would be to close all her consulates in the US and to close down all the US consulates in Russia. Russia does little trade with the US, so who cares what they do?
you know, there’s that thing called diplomacy. it isn’t something that exists because of trade.
Diplomacy or compromise. I don’t think our government knows what those words mean. Its all just deflection while the US empire dies.

Sad part (for me as an American) is that – unlike the US – Russia has always valued diplomacy and will always continue negotiations, even with dead wood. They succeeded in Syria in a way the US could not possibly understand.
The US Department of State acts more like a spoiled child, refusing to talk or interact with any one or any country that will not obey it. Why bother when you can just regime-change them? Unfortunately, that strategy won’t work in the least on Russia or China – that’s why the US is so pissed off at them. I’m sure Xi laughs at US demands in private, and the Putin eye-roll at US ‘diplomacy’ is hilarious.
The last US diplomat of any stature is probably James Baker who must be well into his 80’s now.
I fear that only a hot war where the US people witness hundreds of burning US cities will bring sanity to your nation.

It is bitter too see how far the USA are willing to lower themselves, but at least more people will start to see what this rogue state is really about.
Ufortunately the USA seems to have no concept of what diplomacy is any more. Their idea of negotiation is to send a flight of bombers over, kill and maim and destroy as much as the can and then demand surrender. At last two nations Russia and China are just not buying that fascist cr*p any more. And with Syria, are starting to protect their friends as well. The result is San Francisco and the complete violation of international law. So whats new? The USA has now violated every known international law going where it can, it violates every possible restraint on its mass murder across the globe. To call it a rogue state is not enough. It is now the most evil entity in the known history of this human race.

Could any of our russian commenters tell us,is she jewish? I heard zakharov is a mostly jewish name but im not sure.it might be common jewish name but she might be gentile thhat just happens to have a name that many russian jews have.
Zakharov is not a typical Jewish name. But Lenin , say , was 1/4 Jewish , without being ”Jewish”. Many Russians and Ukrainians have some ”Jewish” ancestor , many ”Jews” had converted to Christianity in the past. Many ”Jews” today have mostly Orthodox ancestors.
