Fearing U.S. Forces Withdrawal, SDF Initiates Talks With Damascus

Source: sdf-press.com

Senior officials of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Damascus government are holding talks on the future of northeastern Syria amid the U.S. decision to withdraw its forces from the war torn country, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on December 20.

According to the UK-based monitoring group, the SDF officials are discussing the possibility of handing over the strategic oil and gas fields on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River to the Damascus government.

In exchange for this step, the Damascus government and its allies could deploy forces in the SDF-held part of the Syrian-Turkish border in order to prevent Turkey from launching any attack into northeastern Syria.

The surprise decision to pull U.S. troops from Syria has left the SDF defenseless in face of a possible Turkish advance Turkey, whose defense minister threatened to bury Kurdish fighters in their tranches.

The SDF warned in an earlier statement that the U.S. decision will have “dangerous consciences” on international security and will “disappointing the hopes of the peoples of the region for security and stability.” From its side, Damascus has not commented on the matter so far.

Local observers had predicted that the U.S. step will push the SDF into an agreement with Damascus and Moscow in order to fend off any attack by Turkey and secure northeastern Syria.

Those turds can go fuck themselves. Don’t give them any mercy, push them back to the mountains in Turkey they came from.

PZIVJ

Things are moving rather fast now . Time for Russia to become involved to keep the Turks back. :)

Jakke1899

This is happening already, behind the scenes, at the highest level, Cavosuglu and Lavrov, Erdogan and Putin are keeping contact on a regular basis.

Mistaron

Something’s going on between the Turks and the Americans, you can bank on it. No way the Americans are just going to leave everyone to their own devices. I cannot believe the US is withdrawing without some kind of duplicitous plan in place.

viktor ziv

Erdogan has no other choice but to attack (he made that promise) hence US is moving out of NE Syria to avoid bad publicity of having confrontation with NATO member.

jorge

The Turks have no army to beat russians, iranians, syrians and iraqis in Syria and Iraq, and the only thing they are now achieving is to put all those working together against their crazy dreams of an new otoman empire.

Sinbad2

Not true, Turkey has a formidable military. The US has been arming Turkey since WWII, so the US could use them as cannon fodder against Russia.

jorge

With your first paragraph I disagree, because it’s not formidable enough, with your second paragraph I agree.

Villainess

The U.S. also set a compliant Iraq against Iran in a protracted bloodletting less than a decade before Poppy Bush invaded Iraq the first time. I doubt our U.S. government believed he would prevail. The goal would have simply been to to weaken them both, cause that’s the way the leader of the ‘free world’ leads.

Hasbara Hunter

After the First Gulf War the Cabal Weakened Iraq & Saddam by Imposing No-Fly-Zones & Checking if their Chemical Weapons were disposed off…. When Iraq was Weak enough…they returned under disguise of Weapons of Mass Destruction…and poor little Babies taken out of incubators and the poor souls Dropped on the floor….Later Saddam even Sponsored “Operation Cyclone” Al-Qaeda Muslimbrotherhood CIA Mercenaries….

Brother Ma

Really? So usa didn’t care when two Nato members Greece and Turkey were at war in 1974 and will be worried now? Why? Is America so shit it is scared of Turkey?

Sinbad2

Not scared, but Turkey is a valuable asset against Russia, and the US has been trying to conquer Russia since the Russian revolution.

jorge

Well, almost everybody amoung the western imperialists tried to conquer Russia since that revolution, but wanting and desiring don’t make the reality.

viktor ziv

One thing is when 3rd parties are involved into the conflict and other thing is when You are involved into it. Also, keep in mind Incirlik card Turks have.

Brother Ma

What about it? Us does not need Incirlik. It had and is building new ones in Greece.

viktor ziv

So time is short indeed then. Thx for the info, however until US is removed from Incirlik, this remains strong card. Can’t remember where but Turkey has the largest army among NATO members (by the numbers, quality is questionable considering setbacks during Afrin op).

Brother Ma

Yes. I agree about them having biggest numbers but quality is questionable. Look at Saudibarbarians against guerilla Yemeni houthis. Turks will cop the same treatment in Syria/Balkans and Cyprus if it goes there in a big way.

Villainess

Back then, the U.S. believed Turkey was advancing towards EU membership and didn’t want EU members fighting eachother, at least back then. Now Turkey has given up that hope and Syria was never on that track at all. I think, both the U.S. doesn’t want to fight Turkey directly AND Trump may be planning war against Russia (or Iran?) Ukraine MPs just introduced a declaration of war against Russia and those troops might just be heading there to join that party.

Bob Starsky

educate yourself about vietnam or czechia in 1945

viktor ziv

So why don’t You elaborate instead?

Bob Starsky

what to elaborate? usa not only betrayed poland buton stalins order started bombing poland and poles and supply bolsheviks withweapons and gear to murder Poles and destroy Poland. In czechia 45 usa politicians forced patton army to leave liberated part of czechia to let bolsheviks in. all that was breaking signed deals in 41-43

viktor ziv

Thx for elaboration. Btw, vietnam doesn’t fallinto the same category. 240000 VC kicked ass 600000 south vietnamies. This made me confused. Anyway thx.

russ

I think this is Trump’s big FU to the globalists trying to take him down… His very own nuclear option on them.

Brother Ma

Hope so! Can’t wait. Just do not use the Turks at all. Fcuckthem!

Hasbara Hunter

The U.S. is done…the Only Back-Up Plan is a Samson-Option….

Neurasth

I dont trust what is happening brother. There is no way the jews would just abaddon the SDF like that. It was their only shot as balkanization. There most likely is some duplicity going on, or the US troops are mobilizing elsewhere for a larger military offensive. Probably Lebanon. Probably Ukraine.

Hasbara Hunter

To me they appear pretty Desperate….Syria did not work…. what can we do next…..eeehhhmmm… Let’s Attack Russia…..I haven’t seen a more stupid idea in my entire life…do they realise how many Friends Russia got at the Moment….and how Little Friends Those AngloZionazis got left? If my Country Holland is stupid enough to Declare War with Russia because of their ZIONATO Membership…. I will declare War to my Treacherous Government….

Neurasth

Well looks like I was right. They are pulling troops out of Afghanistan too and remobilizing in Ukraine. Fucking insane shit.

It did end up well since we last spoke about Idlib… However I still have little faith about Idlib itself. But lets see.

Hasbara Hunter

The Cabal needs their War….it will be game over for them if they just let things go…I believe that we must allow a little time to pass and see what moves are made….Turkey still an Important Ace & Game-Changer….Ukraine to me is just Sabre-Rattling….if any NATO-Troops want War up there…. just give it to them….they’ll understand brute Force… Their Armies are a bunch of Pussies…that Completely Rely on Overwelming Fire Power… Only this time it will come from the other side….

Sinbad2

Notice how they are now moving against Lebanon, plan B perhaps.

Neurasth

And I hope Damascus doesnt concede shit to these SDF vermins. I have more respect for fucking ISIS. At least they fight bravely and they walk the talk.

Sinbad2

Trump is trying to achieve at least one of his election promises. If you read the American media, they all hate the idea of peace in Syria. They will probably kill Trump for this.

ruca

Yes this is quite possible. We should be able to understand the situation very soon.

Sage Durham

JFK was killed for planning to bring the troops back from Vietnam. Trump’s had a pretty long life – and it’s good to see he’s done at least one good thing for his legacy.

Duke LaCroix

I think JFK was killed because he was banging mob whores. He couldn’t keep his dick in his pants.

Trump likes to bang whores too. But he pays them well.

jorge

They would probably kill Trump…if they could. Lets see who is going to be killed…

Hey, Bolton, have a nice return to your farm!

Redadmiral

Yanki ploy to root out Damascus SDF(Kurdish) sympathisers. We’ve seen it all before. Yanki scum have been pulling out of Afghanistan for the past 15 years and more. Only way to deal with the traitorous Kurds is to drive them over the border to Turkey and let Erdoğan solve the problem

Sinbad2

The Kurds can wait, get rid of the yankees first. Australians call Americans sepos because Yank = tank = septic tank = sepo. They were given that name by Australians during WWII.

Brother Ma

That I agree with.

Nick Sobkowiak

That was fast !!!

russ

It would have been faster but they got tangled up with each other trying to be first in line.

Chris Chuba

One of the many benefits of U.S. withdrawal, along with being able to attack ISIS again.

Hasbara Hunter

TO CHOP’M UP THOROUGHLY…and turn them into dogshit…..

Brother Ma

And then the Syrian Desert will bloom! A final fuck you to zionist Israel who prides itself for doing that? I wonder how many Israeli secret army types were made into fertilizer by Russian or Syrian warfare?

Hasbara Hunter

Ruthless Precision Bombings must have done a lot of Damage to the Axis of Evil….that is probably one of the reasons Trumpster wants to pull out….the Deep State wants to Sacrifice some more American Cannonfodder….this appears to me like a Major Deadlock Situation for the United States of Murica…..

FlorianGeyer

If only the fathers of the US lunatics in power had ‘ withdrawn’ the world would not be in the dire situation it’s in now :)

russ

The correct response is to let turkey beat on them for a couple of months.

Brother Ma

Do not think so. Turkey is not blameless or innocent . Simple really .kurds drop their weapons and shut up or Syria and Russia should machinegun them as they deserve.

russ

If Turkey and the Kurds have a tough war between them it weakens both and works to Syria’s favor.

Brother Ma

I agree yet my fear is if Turkey comes into that part of Syria it will be very hard to get them out barring a hot war. Will Russia ,Iran and Syria be willing to war with Turkey to get them out? I don’t think so.

russ

Yes that’s a valid point. Syria would have to manage it very well, keep military in location to occupy as land is freed.

verner

what else can they do but ask Assad to be magnanimous and forgiving.

Brother Ma

He should machinegun the traitors and send any survivors back to Turkey where their shitty greatgrandfathers came from. No mercy to traitorous dogs like the Kurds.

Yea, if Kurds were good guys at all, they would have already been working with the SAA many years ago. They are just users practicing usury. They need to use somebody else now is all. Typical Zionist genociders of Monotheist like the Armenian genocide which was wholly committed by the Kurdish-bigots.

Hasbara Hunter

Yeah Turd-Boyz….. Time for sum Negotiationing Aight..! You Folks Finally got sum Brainz….Should have realized it a little bit sooner….Stealing Syrian Lands and Oil for your AngloZionazi Masters didn’t work out Very Well Aight….you Little Traitors….

FB

Good summary…in principle it is hard to argue with the idea of letting the Turks clean up the bulk of the armed Kurdish militia…this may in fact happen, since the only way the Kurds could avoid this is to integrate into the SAA…there cannot be any kind of armed groups on the territory of Syria, as in any other normal country…one would have to doubt that the Kurds are ready to do that…so there is no option than to let the Turks handle them…in a way it is sad that the Kurds don’t have their own country, and for sure the Turks have been conducting basically a genocide inside Turkey…but the Kurds have made some very poor choices…aligning with Israel and the US, both in Syria and Iraq…what they have done in Syria pretty much kills any sympathy one might have for them…

Brother Ma

All true but i dont want Turks stepping into Syria. Screw them!

Villainess

Until the British Empire dismembered the Ottoman Empire in WWI, they were within the Caliphate together, but under Turkish rule.

Brother Ma

Yes of course you are right.

FB

So what happens in northeast Syria now…?

Will the Turks and their FSA proxies still invade…?

What about Russia and Damascus…will they move into the Kurdish area…?

An interesting take on some of these questions on the Moon of Alabama blog…

According to this view, the the US will coordinate with Russia for a ‘handover’…

‘There will be Russian advisors that will replace the U.S. Green Berets who command the Kurdish and Arab tribal forces against ISIS. Russia will also try to convince Turkey that there is no further need to invade Syria’s east. It will promise to disarm the Kurdish forces or to integrate them into the Syrian army. Its air force will replace the U.S. and others who currently bomb the 2,000 or so Islamic State fighters left in their hold out along the Euphrates.’

Certainly this sounds good, but he doesn’t cite any sources for this kind of specific information about a ‘handover’…

On the other hand…there may already be a ‘grand bargain’ between Putin and Erdogan on Syria, as I have already mentioned here previously…this deal could have given Erdogan the added heft to pressure Trump into leaving…

Another good article is today in The American Conservative…here they outline that it was largely the US commander for Europe, Gen Scaparotti…who has argued for the US accommodating Turkey on the Kurdish issue and just getting out…

Brother Ma

Us is not accommodating Turkey at all. It lost pure and simple and now is trying to sweet-talk Turkey back into their disgisting love affair.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

They wanted complete self autonomy when they should have settled for limited self autonomy, now they’re going to have to settle with whatever Assad gives them, and be happy about it. I don’t feel too sorry for them though, they’ve had every opportunity since January to work things out with Assad.

Brother Ma

Kurds have always been bloodthirsty curs. No better than Turks ,whom they had as friends and fellow criminals for so long.

J Roderet

The so-called “SDF” will have to offer more than just the oil fields that they illegally occupy, but also Raqqa and all the other areas of northeastern Syria that had Arab majorities before the start of the war.

jorge

And to accept Syria’s sovereignity.

Brother Ma

Now why would Assad be stupid enough to let Turks in to take care of the Kurds? The Turks started the war on US orders remember and is a greedy bloodthirsty cur who wants even more of Syria.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Not a chance in hell assad would allow Erdogan to even put a foot through the door, once Erdogan got anywhere near those oilfields [goldmines] he’d never ever leave.

Villainess

He was quite willing to port ISIS fighters into Syria to ‘help’ take out Assad, and steal all of that oil when under ISIS control. Despite the demonization campaigns, I see both Assad and Putin as being the more trustworthy actors on this bloody stage.

Ed

And it now seems that the SDF were bullshitting all this time about re-taking Hajin completely. Apparently they have only recaptured 35% and Daesh have now just launched a massive attack to reclaim it back again!!!

Dicksonrp

WTF??? Do these zio loving and supportive Kurds believe these can negotiate or discuss the handover of the oilfield to the legal Syrian government??? It is not theirs in the first place….they took a basket of water from the zio terrorist jews tell them it will be given to them for supportive action for isrealhell…. Mr Assad…..let the treacherous Turks liquidate most of them, then bus the rest to the occupied territories border and let isrealhell deal with them..a la white helmets.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

its ur best bet SDF!!! stop looking for other countries as some sort of savior/hero
