At least 33 pro-government fighters were killed and 9 others were wounded in an attack on their positions in the Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz province overnight on March 7, the Taliban media wing reported.
According to the report, only 2 Taliban members were killed in the clashes. Taliban members allegedly captured 2 machine guns, a RPG rocket, a grenade and other ammo and equipment.
In own turn, pro-government sources also reported clashes in the province of Kunduz. According to this very version of the events, at least 27 Taliban members were killed and 16 others were injured in a special forces operation, which allegedly came in response to the March 4 attack on a government forces checkpoint in the Imam Sahib district.
