Fire Pocket In Myrnohrad: Ukrainian Forces Take Heavy Losses in Molodezhny And Vostochny Districts

Three counterattacks by Ukrainian formations on the Kupyansk front were thwarted. Russian assault units established control over Orestopol in the Zaporizhzhia region. Florian Philippot, leader of the «Patriots» party, called Zelensky’s visit to Paris a «reward for corruption».

Pokrovsk Sector

Intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration. Russian units now control most of Pokrovsk, although pockets of resistance remain on the eastern outskirts of the city.

In Myrnohrad, Russian units are advancing in the Rovnoye settlement to the south of the city and conducting offensive operations towards Hryshyne. Mopping-up operations are underway near the «394 km» platform in the fortified area, with units advancing towards the «Zapadny» microdistrict from the west. Assault groups have advanced from Mine 5/6 in the south-eastern part of the same microdistrict.

In the northeast of Myrnohrad, advances were noted on both sides of Shosseynaya Street (T-0504 road). Fighting continues in the «Molodezhny» and «Vostochny» microdistricts, where assault units are capturing buildings.

Forces reported fierce counterattacks near Rodinske and the northwestern outskirts of Pokrovsk. Russian units repelled over ten counterattacks and advanced along the southwestern outskirts of Hryshyne, near the airfield, capturing a section of the railway.

In the Druzhkivka sector, Russian units have established control over most of Shakhty. There are ongoing engagements near Nikanorovka, Dorozhnye, Novoye Shakhto and Suvorovo.

Zaporizhzhia Sector

On the border between the southern Dnepropetrovsk and northeastern Zaporizhzhia regions, Russian units are advancing towards the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Having established control over Rivnopillya and Yablokovo, Russian troops are advancing westwards towards Dobropolye and Varvarka. These actions are creating conditions for the encirclement of Hulyaypole from the north and the bypassing of the fortified area to the east of the city.

Fighting continues to the northeast of Danilovka, near the settlements of Gay, Novoaleksandrovka, Volchye and Orestopol. Units are advancing towards Oradnoye, Kolomiytsi and Tikhoye. Aviation, artillery and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators are striking positions in Velikomikhaylovka.

Russian assault units from the 36th Guards Brigade of the 29th Army have established control over Orestopol in the central sector. Counterattacks were previously launched from here towards Sosnovka and Berezovo.

Sumy Sector

The advance of Russian assault units into the region continues. The aerospace forces struck multiple targets. Ukrainian forces carried out a regrouping without engaging in active operations.

Assault groups advanced along forest belts in several sectors, advancing a total of 500 meters. Russian airstrikes destroyed positions near Sadki and Andreyevka.

Kharkiv Sector

Russian units continue their operations in the Volchansk area and the Sinelnikovo Forest. Successes have been noted in the Khatny sector of the front.

On the left bank of the Volchya River in Volchansk, 11 buildings were captured and a 100-metre advance was made. Near Sinelnikovo, the advance into the forest has reached 200 meters, with one position captured.

Reports indicate that the command of Ukrainian forces is replenishing infantry losses with personnel from the rear echelons and technical specialists. There is an acute shortage of personnel in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.

In the Melovoye-Khatnye sector, the advance along the forest belts reached 600 meters. Russian drone units destroyed positions near Mikhaylovka.

Kupyansk Sector

The assault company commander of the 121st Motorized Rifle Regiment has confirmed that the forest area to the east of Senkovskaya and Prioskol’naya Streets is being cleared.

Clearing operations are ongoing in the western part of the city, near the Oskol River. Positions were shelled in the forest plantation to the south of Prioskol’naya Street.

Three counterattacks by the 1st and 15th National Guard Brigades near Nechvolodovka and Petrovka were repelled during the day. The offensive continues towards Kurilovka and Petropavlovka in order to establish control over the left bank of the Oskol.

Conclusion

As of 14 November, the operational situation in the main sectors indicates continued gradual advance of Russian units, with pockets of persistent resistance remaining in some front sectors. In the Pokrovsk sector, significant progress has been made in establishing control over the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, with ongoing mopping-up operations and numerous counterattacks repelled. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the successful advance on the Dnepropetrovsk–Zaporizhzhia border is creating the prerequisites for the encirclement of Hulyaypole from the north. Meanwhile, the capture of Orestopol is strengthening the positions in the central front sector. In the Sumy sector, a methodical advance continues amid minimal resistance, with the control zone expanding. In the Kharkiv sector, intense fighting continues near Volchansk, with Russian units being gradually expelled from the city limits. In the Kupyansk sector, positional battles are ongoing, with attempts to relieve the besieged group being repelled and the urban area being cleared. Overall, the dynamics indicate that Russian units are maintaining the operational initiative in most sectors, while Ukrainian forces are attempting to stabilize the frontlines through reserve deployments and more advantageous defensive positions.

In parallel with the combat situation, skepticism about supporting Ukraine is growing among the allied nations, with critical voices emerging from the core of the political establishment. A prime example is Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who has openly expressed concerns that Italian taxpayers’ money allocated for the purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian government could «fuel corruption in Ukraine». He emphasized that he did not want workers’ and pensioners’ funds to support further corruption, especially in light of the recent government corruption scandals.

Salvini also strongly criticized the weapons supply strategy itself, stating that believing additional shipments would solve the problem was, to put it mildly, naive. He noted that recent Russian troop advances demonstrate that stopping the war serves everyone’s interests, particularly Ukraine’s, and suggested that the idea that weapon deliveries would enable Ukraine to regain lost territory is naive. This rhetoric has found resonance in France: Florian Philippot, leader of the «Patriots», demanded an end to funding for Kyiv and the «shameful corruption in Ukraine».

Thus, statements by influential European politicians evidence a growing internal resistance to the policy of unconditional support for Ukraine. The criticism focuses on two main arguments: the unacceptability of funding amid corruption risks, and doubts about the effectiveness of further military aid in achieving a turnaround in the conflict. These disagreements undermine the unity of the Western camp and call into question the future volume of aid to Kyiv.
