Firestorm: Ukrainian Army Abandons Positions In Rivnopillia Due To Heavy Strikes 

Russian forces have gained full control of Sukhyi Yar in the Pokrovsk sector. Ukrainian forces are withdrawing from Rivnopillia due to heavy artillery and air strikes. Bloomberg stated that any money provided to Ukraine would be stolen, making further financial assistance impractical.

Pokrovsk Sector

According to Russian sources, Russian army units have taken control of the northern part of the city. There have been reports of clashes on the northwestern outskirts, in a cottage settlement north of Kotsiubynskyi Street.

There are still isolated pockets of resistance in the area of high-rise buildings in the city centre, near the market, northeast of the «Yuzhnyi» microdistrict and on the eastern outskirts, near the PMS-135 track machine station. Russian units continue to clear urban blocks methodically.

Attacks have been noted towards the «Zakhidnyi» microdistrict of Myrnohrad south of PMS-135. Units have reached the microdistrict from the direction of mine 5/6 and the city park. According to recent reports, heavy strikes are hitting targets in this area.

On the northern flank, Russian units are solidifying their gains, with additional forces being transferred to the Shakhove area, where heavy fighting continues. Northwest of Rodynske, there has been an increase in the concentration of Ukrainian personnel and equipment, which may indicate preparations for active operations towards Chervonyi Lyman.

Heavy aviation munitions are being used against positions in microdistricts controlled by the Ukrainian side within the city limits of Myrnohrad. Reports are coming in of instances where individual units have ceased to resist following air and artillery strikes.

In Pokrovsk, the situation remains fluid: attempts are being made to transfer reinforcements from the Hrishyne area, with some groups coming under fire en route to the city. Russian units mostly control the area south of the railway, while an area of active confrontation remains to the north.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Russian units gained full control of the Sukhyi Yar settlement on November 12. Fighting continues in Rivne, where units are operating under conditions of partial encirclement. There have been counterattacks on positions in Pokrovsk and on farms along the road from Rodynske to Hrishyne from the directions of Hrishyne and Shevchenko.

Zaporizhzhia Sector

Units of the Russian «East» grouping are continuing to advance. According to statements from Ukrainian «South» operational command representatives, units were forced to withdraw from Rivnopillia to more advantageous positions due to artillery shelling and air strikes.

The situation for Ukrainian units is most difficult in the Rivnopillia and Yablukove areas. There are reports of significant losses in the 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade and the 218th Battalion of the 125th Brigade. It is notable that reports of the loss of control over some settlements emerged prior to any official statements from the Russian side.

The Russian Armed Forces are advancing successfully towards the Pokrovske-Huliaipole highway, threatening to encircle Huliaipole from the north and cut the key supply route for the Huliaipole grouping.

Kostiantynivka Sector

Russian troops are advancing on several fronts. On the northern flank, fighting is ongoing near Maiske and Markovo, to the west of the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas Canal.

In the Predtechyne area, intense clashes continue. Russian units are clearing strongpoints to the south and west of the settlement. In Kostiantynivka itself, small assault groups are operating on the eastern outskirts and engaging in firefights over individual buildings.

The clearance of several strongpoints to the east of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir has been completed. According to some reports, remnants of units were evacuated from the southern shore of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir.

Sumy Sector

With the support of artillery and drones, Russian troops continue to expand the zone of control. Units have advanced along tree lines in several directions, with the total advance reaching 350 metres.

Artillery has struck positions in the Ryzhivka area. A foreign mercenary deployment point was destroyed by drones strikes in the area of the settlement of Hlybne.

Kharkiv Sector

The advance of Russian assault units in Vovchansk and the surrounding area continues. In the southern part of the city, forces have occupied 20 buildings and advanced 200 metres. In the Synelnykove area, assault groups have advanced 200 metres despite facing resistance.

In the Melove-Khatne sector, the security zone along the tree lines in the border area has been expanded by 500 metres. Drone units have destroyed enemy positions in the Velykyi Burluk area.

Russian servicemen have surrounded a Ukrainian force near the Podil settlement. This settlement is located on the eastern side of Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi. The only remaining exit from the encirclement is via Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi, where Ukrainian forces had three ferry crossings; one of these has already been destroyed by Russian units.

Kupyansk Sector

According to reports from the commander of an assault detachment of the 121st Motorised Rifle Regiment, clearance operations have been completed in the Pervaya Zakhidna, Zodchykh and Verbytskoho street area. Meanwhile, Ukrainian units have entrenched themselves in the forested park area between Senkivska and Prioskolna Streets.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has announced complete control of the eastern part of the city. However, Kiev forces continue to attack from the southwest using armoured vehicles.

Conclusion

As of November 12, the operational situation on the main fronts is characterised by the continuation of active combat operations and the steady advance of Russian units. In the Pokrovsk sector, the clearance of the northern part of the city is nearing completion, with only isolated pockets of resistance remaining. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainian units have withdrawn to more advantageous positions due to artillery and air strikes. In the Kostiantynivka area, there has been gradual advancement, with strong points being cleared on the approaches to the city. In the Sumy and Kharkiv sectors, control zones are expanding methodically with the active use of artillery and unmanned aerial systems. In Kupyansk, positional fighting is underway, accompanied by the gradual clearance of urban blocks. Overall, the situation indicates that Russian units are maintaining the initiative on most fronts despite organised resistance from Ukrainian forces, who are attempting counterattacks and regrouping to stabilise the front line.

Alongside the tense operational situation at the front, Ukraine’s internal political situation is facing a serious challenge that could affect international support for Kyiv. According to Bloomberg, the corruption scandal in the Ukrainian energy sector calls into question the advisability of providing further financial assistance. The publication provides a damning assessment: ‘This is irrefutable proof that Ukraine should not be helped, and that any money provided will be stolen’.

The investigation, initiated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), concerns the alleged embezzlement of approximately $100 million intended for the provision of electricity and heat. During searches, including at the home of the former Energy Minister and current Minister of Justice, Herman Galushchenko, and at the offices of the company Energoatom, bags of foreign currency were found. Those involved in the case include President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s associate, Timur Mindich, who is believed to have left Ukraine; Dmytro Basov, a representative of Energoatom; and Galushchenko’s adviser, Ihor Myroniuk. According to NABU, the money was legalised through an office in central Kyiv.

Observers believe that this scandal could set Ukraine back on its path to European Union membership and make it more difficult to obtain financial support from Western partners, which is critically important against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities.
