On April 21, the first batch of militants withdrew from the Eastern Qalamun region towards the Syrian northern city of Jarabulus under the evacuation deal that was reached on April 19, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

The news agency said that the first batch had consisted of 22 buses carrying “hundreds” of militants and members of their families. Syrian pro-government sources expect the the the evacuation process will last between two to three days only, as most of the militants had opted to stay and join the pro-government National Defense Forces (NDF).

Militants had reportedly handed over 37 tanks and more than 15 heavy rockets to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) ahead their withdrawal. More weapons, including US-supplied TOW anti-tanks guided missiles (ATGMs), will be handed over to the SAA in the upcoming hours, according to pro-government sources.

Some US-backed FSA groups, like Jaysh Tahrir al-Sham, had previously vowed to fight the SAA in the Eastern Qalamun until the end. However, the pressure from bigger groups, including Jaysh al-Islam, forced them to surrender.

As a part of the evacuation deal, the Damascus government will provide the public services for all the towns and villages of the Eastern Qalamun region, while the Russian Military Police, that was deployed in the region on April 20, will work with the Syrian Police to secure Eastern Qalamun.

Yes, soon as the arrive US well give them new weapons, and issue new orders. Its like catching rats in the basement, and letting them go in the attic. You still have a home “full of rats”.

The strategy is good however it’s not popular but still good. Bashar Al Assad knows that putting “all the rotten eggs together in one basket is much better than have them scattered all over the kitchen”. Then when the time is right he will take care of all of them in ONE PLACE AT ONCE, rather than moving his army up and down/back and forth all over Syria, this strategy also reduces the civilian casualties significantly.

Let me explain it this way imagine them all rival gangs but their territories don’t have boundaries with one another, so in this situation is to put them all together and have them all fight it out. When they are having their Turf wars in trying to eliminate one another they are killing one another this reduces those in the fight. Battles within urban settings damages infrastructure which can be needed for you to reclaim areas with citizen populations.

The battles in Idlib have proven to be fruitful as they are fighting one another and killing each other as neither seem to recognize a ceasefire.

Despite the Contradiction…it is the best for Reconciliation & Ending this War I believe… though I rather see Headchoppers burn…Good Luck Syria..!

Oh come on people. Raqqa and Mosul clearly show that if you don’t clear the combatants you must destroy the city infrastructure and all its civilians to “take” it. The most dangerous rat is a cornered one. Putting them all in the same corner seems logical, especially when they start eating each other.

On 25 April 2018 Eastern Qalamoun will be fully returned back to Syrian nation. Congratulation to Syrian nation and to their allies who supported them.
