There is a second tank behind the one that fired the first round. If it was indeed a Russian tank crewed by Russians, then how did the surviving Ukrotards stick around to film the taco meat? I realize that the Ukrotards have emphasized cel phone skills the same way the British focused on individual skill with a rifle, but it seems odd that surviving Ukrotards were not eaten up with machine-gun fire. The commander is up in the hatch like he’s on a Sunday drive. Surely he could make a friend or foe decision about the infantry.

Both options are up, in any case tank had to come quite close to make decision to shoot. Yesterday i was somewhat sure it was ukrainian friendly fire from captured russian tank, since the big “V” letter is easier to see than blue armbands troops used. But seeing how close tank actually came before shooting i’m not so sure anymore. In any case those ukrainian troops sat there like as if they were on a picnic. You simply don’t do that on a battlefield, specially not in exposed area like this.
I was thinking friendly fire(ua on ua) too, but now I see it looks like cmder appeared to be up top, so less chance of not seeing armbands. That said I see most with blue armbands on right arm were actually turned\standing\seated in such a way that the tank may not have noticed till got closer. Who knows. Why would UA put it out though, cause either it’s friendly fire or it shows them getting killed for getting caught with their pants down so to speak. Either way I don’t see the value in them promoting it. Only value would be if they claimed these were pows or explicitly trying to surrender (which clearly they are neither).

It doesn’t make sense for Ukrainians to retrieve and publish the video on the dead soldiers phone and also the other video. I guess it is almost certain the tank was russian and so were the other soldiers who filmed the aftermath.
The aftermath looks like it was filmed by conscripts or civilians. One guy is wearing jeans and the cameraman is wearing two different boots.

The arm blue bands were added in last two videos, in the first video there are no blue bands. IMO: Russian special force ambushed an Ukrainian checkpoint, Russian tank did fire because they did not wear the white bands.

there is no use for machine guns, it is a high explosive shell, all you need is to hit the grounded APC and the blast and fragments will do 50 times more effective than machine gun. given the range, time available, infantry positions, the tank crew made the perfect decision, what ever it is, this is no friendly fire or mistake, it is a deliberate hit, the Russian tanks may have moved on, and the surviving or other civilians may have taken the munched meat clip, we saw the first guy who took the clip from near truck, he too ran to cover, he may have gotten up after the Russian convoy has passed to film the meat clip. and believe me, these guys seen in combat kit are a group of hooligans from a local football club.

Anyone here able to translate what’s being said from the tank commander POV? That might clear up any question as to who was operating the tank. There are also some low volume garbled comments in the video showing the dead (which is pretty gruesome). Perhaps that could be deciphered as well.
First video: At the beginning of the video, they are discussing something with foul language, laughing. Then one soldier says to another: “If you need something, pick up the trophy home, and tell you killed a separatist!” The answer is: “No, guys, f*** him ****”. Laughs. The rest is unintelligible.
Second video: “The trophy is coming! Excellent (in obscene language).” He shouts: “It’s the Russians, *****! Run away (on obscene language), ****!”… only obscene language. There is a strong belief that the voiceover is superimposed on the video.
In the third video, in the background, they emotionally discuss (inaudible) the tank, what the lads were thinking… it’s not clear at all. The operator swears throughout the video, says that it is a “Stalker”, that nothing is clear, near the last corpse it looks like he says: “this is the prosecutor ****”.
