Since the morning, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched three attacks (involving three columns of military equipment) in the direction of the localities of Berdin-Novosotnitskoye in the Russian region of Kursk.
The attacks were carried out by the 36th Independent Marine Brigade, the 82nd Independent Assault Brigade and the 47th Independent Mechanised Brigade of the AFU. On the Russian side, the attacks were repelled by Akhmat units, including the 2nd Akhmat Brigade and units of the Sever (North) Group of Forces of the Russian Armed Forces.

As of 18:00 local time, Berdin and Novosotnitskoye are under Russian control, with mop-up operations on the outskirts.
The AFU managed to take control of a few forest belts south of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and a part of this village, which was previously in the grey zone.

Also, the AFU made several attempts to advance along the R-200 Suja-Kursk motorway (the motorway runs south of Berdin) in the direction of the settlement of Bolshoye Soldatskoye. They have collapsed.
The AFU’s losses reached at least 20 units of various military equipment, including four battle tanks. Furthermore, at least 200 soldiers of the UAF have been eliminated since the start of these attacks.

For their part, on January 4 and January 5, the Russian Armed Forces advanced towards Suja itself and entrenched themselves on the outskirts of the urban agglomeration in the settlements of Makhnovka and Agronom. About a half of Makhnovka and the entire area of Agronom are in the hands of the Russians. In other words, clashes are in fact ongoing in the urban area of Sudja itself.
The 155th brigade of the Russian Defence Ministry is active in the Malaya Loknya area. Several units of AFU equipment were destroyed here.
The AFU is expected to bring its main forces into the battle in the near future. However, as of now, the large-scale probing attack of the AFU in the area turned to be a total failure. Regardless of further developments, the hopes of the Kyiv regime for a fast and easy ‘PR victory’ to compensate recent setbacks on the frontline were destroyed.

as a matter of fact, the russian reaction was drones , artillery and (when possible) airstrikes. ukrainians are losing many men and vehicles and they did not come in contact with actual russian troops. russian tactic at this moment? let’em coming, keep them moving, as long as they move they are vulnerable and bleed them out all the way

what i will say is the ukrainians are using some powerful ew systems on some of their vehicles. appears that drones aren’t working with any just losing connection and falling when going in for the strike. the fiber optic drones though are working well as they run on a wired connection.
