The Russian Navy’s state-of-the-art frigates Admiral Gorshkov and Admiral Kasatonov have got the new non-lethal dazzler-type weapon, the 5P-42 Filin (eagle-owl), can make enemy soldiers miss targets by blinding them, causing hallucinations and making them want to vomit, the manufacturer’s press service told RIA Novosti.
According to the report, the system causes a strobe-like effect that disrupts eyesight, seriously hampering the soldier’s ability to aim at night.
The developed weapon is reportedly capable of “effectively suppressing” night vision tech, laser distance sensors and pointing systems for anti-tank missiles from a range of up to 5km.
Tests included volunteers using assault rifles, sniper rifles, and machine guns to shoot targets placed up to 2km away and protected by the weapon. Ruselectronics’ rpess service said that all of them faced problems with aiming because they “couldn’t see the target.” 45% of the involved volunteers reported felt dizzy, nauseous, and disoriented.
What? How?

Shipboard dazzlers are just big-assed, more powerful versions of the above and can have 360° coverage and useful slant angles.
There are supposedly exotic ways they can modulate the laser, like combinations short pulses at different wavelengths, that have been discovered to produce odd physical effects, like temporary weakness, nausea or dizziness. The effects vary by individual and usually require someone to gaze at it for a longer time than anyone normally would. Like a pilot looking at a target, or a soldier aiming at something nearby.
I don’t think they’ve invented anything like a vomit laser yet, but if they did then the cops (at least the Stazi in the U.S., France and the UK) will buy them by the crateload.
Relax though… the government would never use them on its own citizens. https://www.themarysue.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/will-smith-men-in-black-4.gif
Erdogan “induces” simulation of Being Sultan of Otoman Empire without that or any other weapon of “hallucinations”.
laser and other kind of dazzlers aren’t a new concept, even aboard ships.
The novelty is probably in the Ru navy to adopt them on these green water vessels. It’s likely that the provocation attempt put up by Ukraine before Christmas has sped up the process of integrating these weapon systems.
In that case, the Ru vessels had to open lethal fire on the Ukrainians after they ignored appeals to stop – thankfully nobody died and all the wounded were never in grave danger. Yet if the same accident had costed lives to the ukrainian side, which is what the ukrainians tried to accomplish in first place, the mediatical consequences would have been much graver (imagine the MsM whining about the Ru navy shooting ukrainian sailors, the interviews with the relatives of the killed and so on).
Perfect weapon for the Sea of Azov.
I’m sure the MSN will find something to bitch about.
‘OMGZ!!! Russia uses weapons that makes people disorientated and vomiting! Oh the humanity of it all! Is there no end to Russian perfidity?’
There, expect something like that. If you want to bitch, you will find something to bitch about that fits your narrative. Just like I just did with the MSN. ;-)
“…by blinding them, causing hallucinations and making them want to vomit…”
These are horrible weapons and should be banned. Look what happens when a demon uses them! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b24036371f374bac10ea0d738d017c0374768b5ce02e68f3cfd0a723c3d64626.png
What effect will this have on enemies who already daily ingest drugs willingly and self=hallucination’s about who they really are? https://i.ibb.co/t2jvJtG/690-B6-F00-A09-B-4-A0-B-82-C2-7-B06033-E7-DBE.jpg
Six million condoms were given to Jews by the nasty Germans, ergo six million jews died :)
Every normal idiot can see whats wrong. You can find many statistics and estimates, which is not like that at all and for other populations.
Did You count them Yourself.
Most estimates says 3,6 to 3,8 was in Europe in 1948. So the rest came back from America or what ?
I see no source as well.
Interesting, wonder what the tech specs are.
So Russians now are able to produce sunglasses themselves.
Do we get green, red, brown, blue or yellow ?
