On October 31, Anna News released a footage from the al-Assad Military Academy, located in western Aleppo.
The Jaish al-Fatah militant coalition, led by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian Al-Qaeda branch), massively shells the academy with all kinds of weapons: artillery, mortars and rocket launcher systems.
The footage also shows fighters of the Desert Hawks Brigade that operate in the area.
Russia’s Tu-214R electronic surveillance aircraft was spotted in the skies over the western part of Aleppo city if I recall correctly…
yes, you are right https://southfront.org/russias-tu-214r-electronic-surveillance-aircraft-spotted-in-western-aleppo/
If possible, what is your guess on the relative balance of forces in the Aleppo region, it seems the long duration of the cauldron signifies a relatively large (to SAA) encircled force and hostile (to SAA/RuAF) external forces.
Roughly, our take on a strategic situation in Aleppo could be found here: https://southfront.org/overview-of-military-situation-in-aleppo-city-on-november-1-2016/
Spotting the Rocket launchers positions and any armor west of Aleppo should be easy !! I want to see news about the obliteration of these devils… This campaign is becoming too extense in the time frame !! Hell !! To be methodic, the terrorists should be bombed as soon as they come in from Jordan and Israel !!
As usual the main problem is of manpower. SAA and allies have diminishing forces. Rebels have ample supply thru Turkey, Jordan and Iraq. Until the entry points are blocked manpower and supply would keep on changing the situation on front. Fresh Rebels are better trained and well equipped as can be seen in current Aleppo onslaught.
