Two images were shared by Baykar Defense to celebrate Azerbaijan’s victory in the Nagorno-Karabakh War.
One shows a Turkish Bayraktar TB2 Combat UAV, which has a protrusion in the nose, carrying the satellite communications (SatCom) equipment.
The modified UAV is reportedly called the Bayraktar TB2S.
The TB2S, which has been noticed with a change in design, has a structure very similar to the layout of the SATCOM antenna used for satellite connection in UAVs.

Through the SATCOM upgrade, UAVs can overcome the range limitation imposed by the line of sight (LOS) connection, and can communicate with the ground control station in a wide area that is as large as the coverage area of the connected satellite and, as a result, can operate at a longer range and at bigger heights.
This is a result of bans on selling Turkish parts in Canada, and Germany, as well as other countries, and some US companies also refusing to sell parts for the Bayraktar TB2. As such, ASELSAN CATS were tested in a short time, and it appears that they were successfully integrated.
The photo shows the ASELSAN-produced CATS FLIR camera, which replaces the Wescam FLIR camera that was recently embargoed by Canada for delivery to Turkey.
The SatCom system is also indigenously developed by ASELSAN.
Since the Bayraktar TB2S UAV has not been officially launched yet, it is likely that the ASELSAN CATS SatCom was using, but there are also other options, such as the one produced by CTech.
The Bayraktar TB2S is a Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (MALE-UCAV) or SİHA – Silahlı İnsansız Hava Aracı (in Turkish) and is operated by all branches of the Turkish Armed Forces.
The UCAV was sold to Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Qatar. It has proven pivotal in several conflicts already, not only in the ongoing indigenous fight against Kurdish insurgents, but also during the Turkish involvement in the war in northern Syria as well as the recent conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the disputed area of the Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh.

this “ban” on western cameras on turkey drones is all propaganda.. if NATO really wanted to block turkey from using that drone ,they cold do it very easily with the stroke of a pen since 95% of the electronics inside the “turkey drone” is all 100% manufactured in europe ,canada and US. so this is not a turkey drone ,but a nato drone ,that was designed for selling it to turkey , and they buy all the parts and assembled it in turkey.. and to make things even more ridiculous ,about the fraud of this “ban” is that turkey DOES NOT HAVE satelite guidance systems in space.. not even israel have that.. they use american gps.. only US,Russia,Europe and china have satelite navigation systems.. india is working to have one too..and those satellite navigation can be easily blocked to any nation that use them ,under sanctions if they desire.. so nato can truly stop turkey drone program if they so desire it ,completely stop it.. because is not a turkey drone but a nato drone..and they can stop selling all the electronics ,cameras and engine ,something that will totally destroy turkey drone program ambitions. russia and china ,just like anglo european nato , in the other hand use their own drones with their own equipment and electronics.. US ad europe can block the navigation system and the thermal sensor of turkey drones ,and completely stop their drone propaganda machine program. . but they don’t do it.. because NATO is behind this war on armenia by turkey . Turkey don’t produce any technology locally ,whenever they advertise their weapons industry ,is just them buying the parts from nato and assembly them locally.. only middle east muslim nation that produce its own electronics and their own drones in middle east is iran.

In these times all system parts are coming form some country, most electronic parts are from China..even those for US.

Depends on fuel and how much endurance Is needed for the mission. In Theory TB2 could fly to Libya now from Turkish Base.
As far as Russian EW systems ffs.
After that, they fall to Earth, lol.
Sat-com will also enhance resistance against Electronic Warfare. ASELSAN Cats was already in use with TAI Anka, but it was not ready when TB2 was developed. ASELSAN is already working on a newer Version of Cats with better resolution. Bayraktar is also already developing TB3 beside AKINCI.
