The EU establishment obsessed with the idea of a federal Europe is losing touch with the population and is fueling nationalist and eurosceptic sentiment across the Continent. This is how Donald Tusk, European Council president, summarized the situation in Europe during a May 30 European People’s Party summit. According to Tusk, EU mainstream politicians create a utopia of Europe without nation states, a utopia of Europe without conflicting interests and ambitions. Tusk has added that a fully integrated Europe is impossible.
That the statement came from the head of the European Council may seem shocking. However, the European Council comprises the heads of government of EU member states, and today many European governments — and their constituencies — share Tusk’s view. The European Union has failed to overcome Europe’s differences. Its southern members believe that wealth should flow from north to south. Northern European countries want to protect their national wealth and avoiding the responsibility to other members. Eastern states such as Hungary and Poland are attempting to defend their domestic affairs from the union rule. Meanwhile, the US is playing own game and using the EU as a tool in own geopolitical games across the word.
Meanwhile, across the Continent, nationalist and eurosceptic parties aspeare gaining traction with promises to insulate their countries from foreign threats such as immigrants and destructive domestic and foreign policies of the EU buerocracy. In its attempt to overcome the nation state, the European Union has managed only a half-measure. Countries give up sovereignty on some issues and keep it on others. As a result, no one is satisfied. Germany and France are still debating ways to preserve the Continental bloc. But as they do, political events in the next year and a half may prove that the best way to save the European Union is to dismantle some parts of it.
The EU in the form as it is today is repulsive.
While the Polish special services were training the future participants of punitive operations in the Donbass, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this official statement (02-02-2014):
“We support the hard line taken by the Right Sector… The radical actions of the Right Sector and other militant groups of demonstrators and the use of force by protestors are justified… The Right Sector has taken full responsibility for all the acts of violence during the recent protests. This is an honest position, and we respect it. The politicians have failed at their peacekeeping function. This means that the only acceptable option is the radical actions of the Right Sector. There is no other alternative”.
At the same time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk cautioned President Yanukovich against “disproportionate use of force” against the Maidan. Today Donald Tusk, whose grandfather, Josef Tusk, served in Hitler’s Wehrmacht, demands that the Kiev junta deal with the “eastern rebels” harshly, “as with terrorists”.
Poland trained putchists two months in advance of the Maidan. The Polish press has previously disclosed the role of Donald Tusk’s government in preparing the coup.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski invited 86 members of the Right Sector to the police training center in Legionowo. There, they received four weeks of intensive training in crowd management, person recognition, combat tactics, command skills, behavior in crisis situations, protection against gases used by police, erecting barricades, and especially shooting, including the handling of sniper rifles.
This illustrates the role assigned by NATO to Poland in Ukraine. To overthrow the government of its neighbour state, Poland resorted to neo-Nazi activists in the same way that Turkey uses Al-Qaeda (Al Nusra Front) to overthrow the Syrian government.
The EU is evil. The damage is done. Cultural genocide has been carried out.
I completely disagree. The European Union was born out of the ideals of the Age of Enlightenment, Humanism and Liberalism. The European Union isn’t what’s destroying Europe, it’s the far-right, the ultra-nationalists, the xenophobes, the neo-Nazis & fascists.
