On November 22, an explosion rocked the city of Deir Ezzor in Eastern Syria. As a result of the car explosion four soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) were killed.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency’s source in local security agency, the car belonged to the SAA engineering units. It reportedly exploded during the transportation of mines planted by ISIS terrorists in the Al-Qusur area of Deir Ezzor.
The tragedy was a result of a violation of safety regulations during the transportation of explosives, Syrian officials claimed.
Three SAA soldiers were killed in the explosion that occurred near the building of the local security department, another soldier later died of his wounds. All the dead belonged to the SAA 4th Tank Division. Some reports claimed that a brigadier general could be among the dead.
Mine clearance operations in and around the city of Deir Ezzor have been continuing since its liberation from the ISIS militants. A large number of explosive devices were installed in civilian settlements, homes, along roads etc.
Meanwhile, the reconciliation process in the eastern Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor continues for the eighth day in a row.
More that 5,000 of civilians and military personnel wanted by the authorities for evading military service or deserting the SAA ranks have joined the process since November 14.
The Deir Ezzor governorate is steadily returning back to normal, despite the efforts of ISIS militants, as well of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who in their turn, prohibited to their fighters to join the reconciliation process.
RIP Heroes. You shall be avanged.
What you don’t do is transport live mines like that,if they can’t be blown up on site they should be moved to a safe place then blown up.
