An Israeli strike on March 30 hit a vehicle carrying United Nations technical observers outside the southern Lebanese border town of Rmeish, wounding four.
Al-Mayadeen TV, which is close to Hezbollah, reported, citing a Lebanese security source, that the vehicle was targeted by a drone of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as it was moving in Qatmoun Valley near Rmeish.
Three of the wounded are UN observers while the last one is a Lebanese translator, the Lebanese news channel reported, adding that the observers were from Australia, Norway and Chili. The four were taken to a medical center in the nearby town of al-Tiri. At least one of them is said to be in a life threatening condition.
IDF Arabic spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Avichay Adraee denied that Israeli forces hit a vehicle belonging to the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL.
Meanwhile, the UNIFIL and the UN technical observer mission UNTSO are yet to release any statement on the Israeli attack.
The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.
This was not the first Israeli attack to target the UNIFIL during the ongoing confrontation. Last November, the force said that one of its patrols was hit by Israeli gunfire in southern Lebanon, without leaving casualties.
The confrontation has so far resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 246 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 60 civilians.
