Lots of invasive influences are setting themselves in traditionally humble places, so the prospect of just moving away from the inner-city idiots and their repulsive culture becomes a dubious one since it does seem that sort of environment will catch-up with you sooner or later.

I was thinking of moving too Alaska or even to remote parts of Canada (specifically British Columbia) if life circumstance would permit me to do so.

I got a train from Miami Central to Boston one year, what a trip. A cross between Deliverance and Jerry Springer, lol. We thought it would be like a European train journey, but those trains didn’t break 30mph until we left Florida 10 hours later. We left Miami at 10am, and got to DC at 3.30pm the next day! It was around midnight to reach Boston, where my buddy lived. As different as day and night, US cities to outside of them.

The internet is the only place to let off steam, telling your government things are shit, and doesn’t work. I was the victim of serious medical negligence back in 2003, they peeled my cornea off for no good reason. That doctor was practising in Texas in 2013, according to one of his colleagues I met while getting treatment abroad. I have a corneal graft, with a tubular implant under that, and a trabelectomy before that. A world first, and only. No one jailed, sacked or disciplined. The taxpayers paid the damages, while the highly paid doctors walked away scot free. I will be getting a new transplant soon, and I have cataracts on both eyes which also have to be removed soon.

Life is shit, but its all there is, and happiness can be found in patches, but I convince myself its the same for most of us.

I’m 56, the arthritis is catching on, the lungs are getting a bit less full, and my wife and kids tell me to calm down, as I’m not as young, blah blah. I of course don’t realise this, in my head I’m still a fit soldier, and I am in good shape overall still.

I do wind up people the wrong way, and I also apologise for the insults and innuendo I sent you. Before I joined the army in 1981, I was a tearaway, but not in disciplined sports of course, different days. We learnt martial arts through watching Bruce Lee, lol. And then practising it against the next suburb. My son is 14, and never leaves the house, but he is online all day killing people in games.

Best wishes to you to brother, this entire spat between the both of us should have never happened (and I’m mainly to blame). Upon learning you are an older person as well with a family I felt extra shitty for what i was trying to do (set up a fight). Younger people should hold a higher-degree of respect for those with seniority.

Actually I hope I’m as exceptionally strong-willed as you are now when I reach an older age. It’s good to see people who are willing to stand their own ground for what it is they believe in. It’s a commendable trait, don’t be ashamed of it!

I’m not that old, not physically anyway, I don’t look my age, and I have kept the weight off and strength up. I take it your 20-30, good to see you are a disciplined young man, and wish you well with the martial arts. As I said earlier, my 14 year old son is a great kid, but he is small and lightweight at this time, and confidence is hard to come by for him when he is smallest in class. I too was like that at 14, small and light, but the big chip on my shoulder I carried for that got me through no bother. Different days now though, anyway, all the best brother.
