French Assembly Adopts Resolution Calling to End anti-Russian Sanctions

The French National Assembly adopted a resolution to lift the EU-imposed sanctions slapped on Russia over the crisis in Ukraine and the reunification with Crimea. The document is non-binding.

55 MPs have supported the resolution, 4 voted against and 2 abstained. 101 of the 577 deputies in the lower house of the French Parliament took part in the vote.

Following the debate on canceling sanctions, Thierry Mariani, member of the center-right Republicans party said the document “calls on the French government not to extend the restrictive measures and economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union.” Mariani noted that anti-Russian sanctions should be lifted because they only cause harm.

Earlier in 2016, French Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs Emmanuel Macron stated that by this summer France will assist in lifting anti-Russian sanctions.

The vast majority vanished because they are cowards. They know the public is demanding the end of sanctions, but they are afraid of their masters who are imposing them, so they went missing.
