Fresh Army Advance In Northern Hama Ends With Failure

Support SouthFront

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies repelled a large-scale attack by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) on their newly-established positions in the villages of Jibeen and Tell Meleh in northern Hama on June 15.

According to several sources, the SAA advanced in the early hours of the morning and stormed both villages under the cover of Syrian and Russian warplanes. However, the terrorists didn’t withdraw and managed to push the army back after a series of successful defensive operations.

Iba’a, HTS’s news network, said that the terrorists damaged two BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), destroyed a battle tank and captured another during the clashes in northern Hama.

A coalition of HTS, the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) and al-Qaeda affiliated factions captured Jibeen and Tell Meleh in a surprise attack earlier this month.

The recent ceasefire agreement has apparently provided HTS and its allies with the time needed to fortify their positions in Jibeen and Tell Meleh. This allowed the terrorists to repel the SAA initial push. However, the upcoming few hours may witness more attacks by the army.

Incompetence, amadourish, foolish in só many strategic plans. Nasty each news about a failed attack by Syrian Army. It seeems tired , slow, without moral.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

Cant wait until Syria start smashing up the SDF. Hope she takes LOTS of USA pigdogs with them

Rhodium 10

SAA always have been incompetent.. only few brigades( Tiger Forces) have ability to fight vs well armed terrorist!..but like the Iraqi army ….they need not only air support…also Shia militia( Hezbollah&IRGC) on ground!

Icarus Tanović

Guys, people don’t get nervous, wait and behold future successes of SAA. Period.

╭∩╮( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)╭∩╮

syrian noob army

Icarus Tanović

You’re little internet coward.

Bruno

Says the Jihadist Troll. Hows that democracy and freedom working out in Libya yet?

Mike

Turkish trash.

Gary Sellars

Fuck off dumb cunt

Rafik Chauhan

this is Russia fault . look like Russia is with turkey to kill SAA army .by agreeing ceasfire with terriost. and allowing this terriost to fortify the area. SAA will not be able to take this hill at all now same like kabana and tael sakr. SAA has lost this territory forever. turkey is laughing at the Syrian defeat.

jm74

You could be right; deals are made behind closed doors and they all are good actors.

Those countries that produce oil, gas, gold, silver, diamond, emerald, uranium, Rare earth elements and technologies the thugs US, NATO and Israel are their main enemies.

What Pompeo said the other day that the world has glorified US CIA for lies, cheats and steals.

National Pride

That picture’s got it backwards, bro.

Free man

Where did the Iranian / Hezbollah forces disappear? Apparently they have more important things to do in Syria.

Joe Dickson

I have had enough of this incompetence. Assemble the Republican Guard and launch a pincer attack at the border from Latakia going East and from Aleppo going West and cut them off from Turkey. Either they stay and run out of supplies or they flee across the border, either way you win.

Rhodium 10

The problem is that terrorist have many ATGM and manpads supplied by courtesy of Turkey and western allies….to retake idlib you need a qualified army with modern and protected tanks and APC..beside Attacks helicopter operating during night covering the operation…SAA lack of these resources!

Joe Dickson

That is what the RG is for. If they assemble all of it for a pincer movement to the border it can be done.

meridius

For one thing, these are the most battle hardened and fanatic Islamist that have been perched together in Idlib province. Secondly, they fight to the back to the wall so to speak, knowing that there is nowhere else to go for them, especially for the foreign ones from Central Asia and Caucasus; that most of SAA units have limited motivation and discipline, is a forgone conclusion. No amount of air support will ever win a battle on the ground. You need solid boots on the ground to gain terrain and hold it.

Rhodium 10

SAA stopped operation after they retake Dara!..that was a mistake as Turkish supplied weapons and create an strong force which the purpose to invade kurdish areas!..for other side without Hezbollah on ground SAA is not a reliable force!

pjt

Exactly meridus, SAA is facing its toughest opponent & they are still being back by Turkey. SAA needs to rethink its strategy & everyone needs to now this is a battle that will probably last for years..

Icarus Tanović

American never put a feet on a Japanese soil, but they bomb the Hell out of Tokyo, so to speak…

Drinas

“that most of SAA units have limited motivation and discipline, is a forgone conclusion.” Agreed, but why? Don’t they want to liberate their land and/or take revenge? I don’t get it..

Silvia Mocanu

Arabs are too tribal for the concept of nationhood. There was no Arab country as independent political entity until about late’40 and early ’50. For them the concept of allegiance to the state means very little -if anything at all- and is certainly very fluid.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

true but which other ground forces are coming to help SAA?

Ray Douglas

As I see it the SAA/Russian tactic is to encourage the terrorists to bring more forces from other places then to launch a pincer movement from the East and the west and cut them off and destroy the surrounded terrorists. Look at the maps.

Ray Douglas

The ISIS hunters and the great SAA which liberated many areas didn’t become bad soldiers overnight. Have patience.

Lazy Gamer

For an entrenched, reinforced, and well supplied army, i think they will have to resort to drastic measures of levelling all manner of entrenchments… Which would lead to massive collateral damage, a loss in the publicity war and their souls. lol Or they use drones to scout then send some “precision” bombs.

turkey cannot save u at all rat

America can’t save your stinky Turkish ass forever.

fuck off, you idiot goat-raping cunt

Mike

Fuck off Turkish rat.

khalkha

I have an advice for Russian Assad Army , stop trying to gain territories from Syrians and go retrieve the occupied territories from the Israelis

Mike

Fuck off, why don’t you jihadis go and liberate Palestine rather then attack other Arab countries.

khalkha

First of all we don’t attack arab countries but we defend ourselves from illegitimate authority and russian foreigners and others in our own arab countries . Secondly assad’s regime and russians stay between israel and us and they made agreement for that Thirdly , who have big military means like aircrafts, ballistic missiles, tanks ,russian support ?????!!!!! Not us

John

This is very light fighting, something else is going on here.

Ma_Laoshi

“The recent ceasefire agreement has apparently provided HTS and its allies with the time needed to fortify their positions in Jibeen and Tell Meleh.” That’s what these agreements are for, duh, to bail out and help the terrorists. History buffs and qualified strategists will no doubt scoff at armchair generals who learned from video games, but still: using your momentum, not letting routed units regroup, etc–it all makes sense.

Name me one war which was won with the strategy we see here. All this “time is on Russia’s side” is a load of BS: Russia doesn’t want to crush the jihadists, because its influence in the region is based on Syria being weak and divided. It’s all SOP of mafia patronage.

Pavel Pavlovich

Unfortunately, Russia herself is a colony of the US since 1993 or thereabouts. So your comment is that of a dumb F**K and you yourself are a useless bum. Bugger off.

National Pride

You know, I always though that Russia’s major diplomatic advantage over the US was their reputation for steadfastness, but it looks like that’s out the window. I think Putin has made a grievous error by screwing over Assad.

Astrid Watanabe

Too bad. Many people were happy to discover a much needed hero: Putin. Another illusion bites the dust.

straw walker

Assad and his cut throats need a plan “B”. The World Court in the Hague is waiting with a Texas Neck tie, for crimes against humanity and war crimes . I’m guessing their best hiding place will be Saudi Arabia, under the Crown prince, who just happens to be the next nut job in the middle east.

straw walker

Assad is a leader, of a country no one wants to live in, just him and his mirror. 3.5 million Syrians in Turkey that want to live in Turkey..and will never return to present day Syria.

Gregory Casey

Good that they stay there. #EmperorErdogan sure will get pissed when self-same #Jihadi want to turn Tourist Resorts in S Turkey into Prayer Retreat Hotels for Jihadi requiring some R ‘n R

Sad to see SF (at list a part of it) becoming Al Queda propaganda outlet.

I agree that I may be “jumping the gun” in this case. Sorry.

No worries mate, I was just asking and you maybe right.

That was just the “taste” that report left after I read it. But may be it was a wrong impression.

Every event/news can be delivered differently. This one left “bas taste”. Read other comments on this article. I admitted that I may be “jumped the gun” in this case.

Free man

On Wednesday, Moscow announced that they had agreed to a cease-fire with the Turks. What happened ? Why were dozens of Syrian soldiers killed in vain?

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

assad should say FUCK the ceasfire, these rats arent gonna be getting a second of rest for me

Ma_Laoshi

Problem there is that neither Iran nor Hezbollah has the capabilities which the Russkies could bring to bear, if only they could be bothered. As for Assad, he surely now understands his mistakes of a decade ago, but that doesn’t mean he can go back to fix them.

Seems we’re waiting for a bloody, costly attack on the Russian Khmeimim base to get past the Pantsirs to remind the Bear that maybe it should do something about those jihadists. The sad thing there is that the soldiers in the firing line had no part in this skullduggery, and may not understand it much better than us.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

yes i agree, russia really needs to commit more now more than ever to finally get the job done, or it will find itself in syria for a much longer time

Ma_Laoshi

I’m not alone with the creeping suspicion that the Kremlin wants to remain in Syria for a long time, to keep an eye on the mid-east oil fields and prove themselves relevant in the eyes of their kosher masters–things like that.

Maybe we can learn something by looking on the other side of the fence: “peace” of course never was part of the Dark Throne’s vocabulary, but nowadays “victory” has been expunged as well. In Pentagonese, its goal throughout the world is to “have a presence”, “play a role”, etc; just muddle on, keep adversaries of balance, and ensure the money keeps flowing. A real eye-opener was somebody’s comment here “When Putin and Lavrov talk so consistently about their Western partners, one has to assume they’re speaking the truth.”

A small problem is that the Dark Throne can (for now) print unlimited dollars for unlimited war, but Moscow can not.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

I guess they could too if they really wanted or had to, but they see where its gotten the dark throne, and know its kinda a dead end road. But yea I would rather have russia rather than US in middle east, also because I am Iranian and russia is friendly with iran

Ma_Laoshi

“I guess they could too if they really wanted or had to” Do you mean print mountains of rubles? No Russia can not: the financial markets would pronounce the ruble to be trash, and Moscow’s real spending power with those piles of worthless rubles would probably be less than it is today.

If you ask the Americans about their monetary policies, they curtly reply “We’re exceptional”. And the curious thing is that Russian top economists, educated either in the West or at home by Western-leaning professors, sincerely do believe the US to be exceptional. Also, the US$ is (for now) synonymous with oil, which everybody needs, ensuring demand for US$. Also, if you question the US$, the war machine will demonize, attack, and utterly destroy you–tends to keep the proles in line.

Some parallels here with the Opium Wars. China was delivering silk, pottery, etc to the British Empire–stuff with real value. So they started wondering why they were being repaid with the drugs poisoning their people, and if maybe they could have something useful like silver instead. Wrong question, so the Brits had to send in the gunboats.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

Thats exactly what i meant, they would become a debtor nation like america. Anyways, anglozionists days are numbered, US empire will fall soon if it keeps on the path its on

iosongasingsing

Are there buratinos or not? What are the Syrians waiting to fry these rats once and for all? Don’t they think they are going to flush out the multi-murder kamizaze cojotes with the only rifle?

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

all these fuckin retarded ceasefires do is let turkey come and resupply their cockroaches, then once theyre all good and ready, they break the ceasefire. BURN THEM ALL AND TAKE BACK YOUR COUNTRY SAA!!!

Suyanto Ng

some SAA top brass incompetence, they just going in without support from artillery or air. They think pounding few airstrike earlier will enough, but forget their entire advance also need to cover from air and land. After some casualties emerged, they QUICKLY drawback ALL their forces from their GAINS LoL. Besides what purpose of earlier airstrikes, when they’re all doing fatal mistakes on the ground. Are they going to dance or go to war ?

Tupac-A-Pussy-Lips

GO SAA! THE WORLD SUPPORTS YOU!
