New satellite imagery shows further damage caused by Iranian strikes on United States military facilities and related sites in Kuwait and Jordan.

Most of the imagery comes from the European Union’s Sentinel-2 satellite. They were taken on July 18 or the few days before.

In Kuwait, imagery shows three impact points in an open area at Ali Al Salem Air Base, along with possible damage or ground disturbance to an aircraft shelter. The base is a major logistics hub for U.S. forces in the region, handling roughly 90 percent of supply transit for American troops in Iraq and Kuwait, and hosts a Patriot air defense battery.

Separately, large plumes of smoke were observed rising from the Al Ahmadi Port area following Iranian strikes there. The port is Kuwait’s principal oil export terminal and also serves as a fuel-support site for U.S. Navy vessels operating in the region.

Meanwhile in Jordan, imagery confirms additional direct hits on Muwaffaq al-Salti Air Base, carried out over a multi-day period. One strike completely destroyed a U.S. aircraft shelter, assessed to have been one of the MQ-9 Reaper combat drone hangars in the base’s drone and surveillance aircraft parking area.

NASA FIRMS fire-detection data also identified two active hotspots on the base: one within a U.S. troop barracks and accommodation area, and another inside a warehouse complex.

Muwaffaq al-Salti is one of the U.S. military main expeditionary air hubs in the region, housing dozens of fighter jets and combat drones.

The latest imagery shows that Iranian missiles and drones are penetrating the air defenses of the U.S. and its allies easier than before. In addition, the strikes in general are becoming more accurate.

The limited confrontation between the U.S. and Iran, which began on July 7, is edging closer to a full-scale regional conflict. The memorandum of understanding the two sides signed last month to end the war now appears to be defunct in all but name.
