Fresh Wave Of U.S. Strikes Hit Houthi-Held Areas In Yemen

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on September 11 that its forces struck targets in areas held by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen over the past day.

The targets included five drones and two missile systems, the command said in a statement, without providing any additional details.

“It was determined these systems presented a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region,” the statement reads. “These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.”

Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV, which is run by the Houthis, said that at least four “American-British” strikes hit the area of al-Kanab in the Maqbanah district of the southwestern province of Taiz on September 10. The news channel didn’t provide any details on the losses. These strikes were likely the ones announced by CENTCOM.

The strikes came just hours after the Houthis announced that they had shot down another American-made MQ-9 Reaper combat drone over Yemen. This was the second such drone to be downed by the group in less than 72 hours.

Over the last ten months, the Houthis targeted dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the United Kingdom In the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in response to the Israeli war on the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the group’s air defenses shot down at least nine American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.

During the same period, the Houthis also launched from Yemen more than 200 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and suicide drones at Israel, mostly toward the Red Sea port city of Eilat in the south, according to the Israeli military.

The U.S. and the UK have carried out hundreds of strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen since January. Israel also launched an attack against the Red Sea port of al-Hodeidah last month after a deadly Houthi drone strike on the city of Tel Aviv. All of these strikes have failed to deter the Houthis, or even to degrade their military capabilities.

what are the lives of 70 people compared to millions to make such an endeavor which might payout? such is their thinking. i wouldn’t put it past them at all. like betting on a risky business venture which might have a high payout to them.

the united snakes is like an impotent sprawling octopus or a retarded hyperactive spoiled adolescent. it makes grand napoleonic gestures, issuing threats and sending its joke lgbt army around the planet to no real purpose, but nobody is very impressed any more and mostly they don’t even condescend to notice. what passes for us leadership is the worst in its history, arrogant, venal and corrupt, irredeemably ignorant, delusional and ideologically driven.

you look at any administration, a coterie of weird billionaires and their close relatives in an orgy of nepotism and corruption, superannuated generals for hire, religious nutjobs, rabid warmongers, chancers, grifters, conmen, fraudsters, and certifiable lunatics. and much the same applies to the uk and eu. it’s difficult to understand how things have got so bad so quickly.

people such as trumpo, biden, harris, schulz, starmer, macron, leyen play the part of latter day king lears, all sound and fury signifying nothing. emperors with no clothes. the wizard of oz behind his curtain. all of them together are not worth a toss. they are not even worth contempt. they just don’t matter.
