22 MILLION AMERICANS LIVE IN “DEEP POVERTY”
The poverty line is determined by comparing the income level of a family (or an individual) to the cost of buying the necessities of life. An income level below the “poverty line” means the family or individual is living without all the basic necessities of life. According to U.S. Census Bureau figures for 2013, 15.8 percent of the U.S. population (almost 50 million people) were living in poverty. In addition, people with incomes less than half of poverty-line level are said to be living in “deep poverty”. The U.S. deep poverty rate is 6.8 % or about 22 million men, women and children. Lawrence Davidson, a history professor at West Chester University in Pennsylvania examines how the 300 million Americans who live above the poverty line are able to carry on with their lives while ignoring 22 million of their fellow citizens who are struggling to survive each day.

IF I SAY IT, THEN IT’S NOT A LIE
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, formerly U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal, examines some of the events that have unfortunately become routine in the U.S. – school shootings, police shootings of unarmed civilians, bank foreclosures of homes while the banks themselves are considered to be “too big to fail” so they are bailed out by giving them billions of public taxpayer dollars that they will never repay. Dr. Roberts discusses the future for a U.S. foreign policy that has made millions of people into homeless refugees as well as the current reaction of the Russian Federation to the situation that the people of the U.S. find themselves in.

REBUILD AMERICA’S MILITARY !!!
America’s military budget (not including the secret “black budget”) is bigger than the military budgets of China, Russian, Saudi Arabia, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, India and South Korea combined. In spite of outspending the rest of the world, a new report from the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) argues that American’s military must be rebuilt because it is too small and its warfighting equipment is too old. The AEI explains that, to protect and preserve the “American Way of Life”, the American military must be able to successfully fight three wars simultaneously – in Europe, the Middle East and East Asia. You may wonder how a nation that already has 50 million people living in poverty can afford to spend the money needed to expand their biggest-in-the-world military by 50%. Well, this expansion is actually very easy to do as long as the 300 million Americans who are NOT living in poverty agree to keep puffing on their opium pipes underneath the pretty rainbows.

IF THE KUNDUZ HOSPITAL ATTACK WAS AN ACCIDENT, WHY IS THE U.S. REFUSING AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION?
The October 3rd American airstrike on the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan killed 22 people and left 33 other people missing and likely burned to death. This article by journalist, attorney and author Glen Greenwald, asks why the U.S. government continues to refuse an independent investigation if, as the government says, the attack was just an “accident”.

MONSANTO’S ROUNDUP WEED KILLER WITH GLYPHOSATE IS SAFE, SAFE, SAFE
Writer Christina Sarich discusses the findings of the Indian Institute of Science (IIS) that the widely-used herbicide, “Roundup”, can cause imbalances in the synthesis of steroid hormones in male rats. Although Monsanto claims that the glyphosate in Roundup does no harm to humans, a recent study shows that Roundup can cause a decrease in the synthesis or release of the hormone ACTH (Adreno-Cortico-Tropic Hormone) from the human pituitary gland. Another study indicates that glyphosate may be linked to a large increase in diabetes, Alzheimer’s, senile dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, autism and cancer. But don’t worry about getting sick from glyphosate. Monsanto did 16 billion dollars ($16,000,000,000) worth of business selling Roundup and genetically-modified (GMO) seeds in 2014. We all know big companies don’t lie. If Monsanto says glyphosate isn’t hurting you then it isn’t hurting you.
