US combat drone continue to operate over the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib where several terrorist group are present and active.
At least two General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper drones were spotted flying over the region, fully-armed on several occasions between October 25 and 27.
The drones, all of the MQ-9 Extended Range (ER) variant, were armed with AGM-114 Hellfire-type missiles and carrying different unidentified pods, likely for communication and intelligence gathering.

Under the rule of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), Greater Idlib became a large safe haven for terrorist groups and wanted terrorists in the Middle East.
In September, a US drone strike targeted Horas al-Din senior leader Salim Abu-Ahmad in the eastern Idlib countryside. A few days before the strike, US combat drones were spotted flying over Greater Idlib.

1.When was Russia successfully attacked by drones? The SAA were attacked by drones and drones have been used in Libya against one faction or another however the Russians have been swatting them down on a monthly basis for years now at latakia.
2. Why would Russia shoot down US drones attacking the same terrorists they are fighting in Idlib?
