A Hezbollah commander, Haj Mehdi, uncovered in front of a number of western news agency reporters that Israel has been reinforcing its defense lines at the contact line between Lebanon and Israel.

A journalist, Nasser Atta, made a number of photos and videos from this event and released them in his twitter account.

According to Haj Mehdi, the new Israeli fortifications span 2,600 meters with a height between 7 and 15 meters. A system of electric fences equipped with cameras and advanced alarm systems are also installed.

Part of the defense system is a border road specialized for Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) patrols.

Several media reporters published photos of elements from Hezbollah in the region – one photo showed a Hezbollah fighter equipped with an Igla SA-16 MANPAD, which is considered an effective anti aircraft missile although not advanced.

It is believed that the Israeli fortifications were strengthened after Hezbollah’s reveal of its armored force last year. Israel worries about a potential surprise attack by Hezbollah on some of the border settlements.

In turn, Lebanese sources suggest that Israel may be planning a new war this summer on Lebanon, taking advantage of Syria’s lack of stability and Hezbollah’s involvement in the Syrian war.
