As a result of the liberation of settlements in the Kursk region, fresh evidence of war crimes committed by the Kiev regime against civilians has emerged. Servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces have never been shy about killing civilians, but during the invasion of the Russian region, the genocide accelerated.
The Ukrainian military:
- Hunted down civilians who tried to leave the area of combat operations;
- Conducted mass murder, rape and looting in occupied settlements;
- Practiced hostage-taking of civilians and their imprisonment in concentration camps;
- Desecrated monuments and destroyed churches.
This is all confirmed by plentiful footage and the testimonies of civilians.

Alexey Tabaev, a resident of liberated Sudzha, told about the atrocities of Ukrainian militants in his town. Everyone who tried to leave Sudzha was shot by the AFU. Riddled cars stood on the roads for a long time. The bodies of dead people were either taken away or burned by Ukrainian fighters.
“When it became clear that Russia would kick them out of there (Sudzha), they removed all the cars. All of them disappeared. There was even a bicycle lying at the gate of the meat processing plant. <…> I saw bullet holes on the gate, that is, a man was riding a bicycle, without weapons, without anything – they (the AFU) shot him,” Tabaev said.
Near Sudzha, Ukrainian militants, according to the resident, have set up guns.
“There was not a single day that Sudzha was not shot at. Thus, they were shooting it up to completely level it to the ground”.
The International Public Tribunal for the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis (chaired by M. S. Grigoriev) has also published new evidence of the Kiev regime’s crimes. Here are some of them:
“We are now in front of the entrance to the town of Sudzha. The AFU shot people, as always. And almost immediately, right at the entrance, killed civilians.
A civilian car, with traces of gunfire. The AFU shot a woman who was here. There is another body lying nearby, a man. Also killed by the AFU.”
Resident of the village Zaoleshenka (Kursk region) Elena Savchenko:
“The AFU killed many people during the evacuation. My neighbor helped a man and his mother to get out, took them to Bolshoye Soldatskoye. When he was returning, a Ukrainian drone dropped a charge on him. The car was thrown off by the explosion.
Cars on the streets were being shot at. I saw bullet-riddled ones.
At the market, a Ukrainian soldier put six people against the wall and said he had served 15 years in prison and didn’t care whom he killed.
The Ukrainian armed forces were looting, taking everything – household appliances, clothes, even underwear. My neighbor is a manicurist, and they stole her set.
The looting went according to schedule. On Thursday new units would arrive, on Friday they would start loading the loot, and by Sunday they would take it out. A week later, new units would come in, and it would happen again“.

“My son and I were driving towards Sudzha, killed civilians were lying right on the road. Near the boarding school – two men, about 35 years old, shot. Everywhere where there were Ukrainian military, there were bodies left. At the train station we counted three corpses. All were civilians. At the bridge, on the way to the station, two more, also shot.
In Makhnovka there are even more dead – about 20 people. The Ukrainian military shot a man in his 50s, without explanation. Women were also killed. In Kazachya Loknya, at least 20-25 killed, whom we knew personally.
The Ukrainian military killed everyone in sight. They said they had orders to kill all Russians. Women, men – there was no difference. Children were also killed. A seven-year-old boy had his arm blown off by a rocket.
Whoever looked at them with ‘hostility’ were killed. Ukrainian military killed many people I know.
Ukrainian drones were hunting people. They even said it was their land. The drones were hitting houses, purposely destroying the homes of civilians.
The Ukrainian military didn’t just kill, they looted homes, taking everything they could carry. They took out food, furniture, appliances, clothing, machinery, cars, trailers, even bedding. They took insulation off the walls. They took every last thing and hauled it out.”
Units mostly composed of professional convicts participated in the murders and looting. The analysis of AFU crimes is especially relevant now, when many of the killers and looters may be captured in Russia and pretend to be drivers and cooks, rather than bear the deserved responsibility for their deeds.
The convicts from the “Shkval” unit of the 129th brigade of territorial defense of the AFU, headed by criminal authority Anatoliy Buryak with the call sign “Khudozhnik“, “distinguished themselves” separately. This unit entered the Kursk region in August 2024 and operated in the area of Borki, Plekhovo, Kurilovka and Guevo.

As for the personality of the commander of the unit, it is known that in the turbulent 90s Buryak was involved in racketeering in the Krivoy Rog district of Sotsgorodok, and later, having accumulated a fortune from the proceeds of crime, he got involved in sports and politics. After the beginning of the Special Military Operation, he joined the ranks of the territorial defense of Ukraine. Despite the fact that he had no actual criminal record, he was a significant figure in the Ukrainian criminal world.
He began traveling to penal colonies in the Dnipropetrovsk region – primarily in the Krivoy Rog district, as he had certain connections in the leadership there in order to recruit special contingents for his unit, earning him the position of detachment commander. In early August 2024, the “Shkval” unit was sent to Kursk region, and there enacted a string of war crimes on behalf of the AFU.
Convicts stole vast amounts of equipment from Russian civilians, including household appliances, power tools, gasoline generators, jewelry and motor vehicles. The stolen property was taken to the territory of Ukraine, to Buryak’s personal warehouses in Sumy region, and to whom it was subsequently sold is unknown. The most distinguished looters amongst Buryak’s subordinates were rewarded with vacations.
The convicts did not shy away from killing civilians. In particular, on September 13, 2024, a civilian was shot by order of Buriak in the village of Plekhovo. His body was thrown in the vegetable garden. The man’s murder was carried out by a criminal from the Shkval unit, Denis Leonidovich Turluk, born in 1998, with the call sign “Kytsya”. The murderer also received a leave of absence from the commander of the unit.

It was established that earlier Denis Turluk had been imprisoned in correctional colony No. 80 in the city of Krivoy Rog of Ukraine.
As for the methods of recruiting from Ukrainian penal colonies, there is a standard scheme; prisoners from the various colonies are assigned to specific units. Thus, colony #80 from Krivoy Rog supplies fighters to the ranks of the 129th separate brigade of territorial defense of the AFU.
The methods of recruiting prisoners are predictable. Usually, the head of the operational unit invites prisoners to sign a contract with the AFU, because “it is better to go now for money than to be taken away for free later”. Ukrainian propaganda, broadcast around the clock in the barracks, also contributes to this. Prisoners are led to believe that the Ukrainian army is winning and that “the Ukrainian armed forces have already driven the Katsaps all the way to the Urals”. Of course, there are always those willing to participate.
From the testimonies of prisoners of war it is established that “392 people went to the front from the colony, but there were 420 people willing, 28 people did not pass the so-called professional selection”. By “vocational selection” is meant a medical examination and appropriate measures to determine suitability for service.
After signing a contract, the freshly minted “volunteers” are picked up by representatives from their designated military unit, after which they start a standard course for novice fighters, after which they are distributed to the front.
Actually, when recruiting “criminals”, the AFU leadership sets them the appropriate tasks – to kill, rob and rape. Of course, no one from the Ukrainian leadership cares what these people will do at the front with civilians and their property, because in general they do not care how many war crimes will be committed.

when this conflict is over a future ukraine may well regret releasing these criminals. those who did the killing for nato at maidan also felt that they would never have to answer for their crimes. most of these ukraine criminals probably have few friends amongst their units who will spill the beans sooner or later. a gov’t which cares for its people will never stop looking for such war criminals. these people are criminals first and soldiers second.
