The PzH 2000 is a German 155 mm self-propelled howitzer developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall in the 1980s and 1990s for the German Army. The rate of fire of 3 rounds in 9 seconds and 10-13 rounds per minute make this German howitzer an ideal option for “shoot-and-scoot” operations.

operation range meaning how far it can drive without refueling.
first off operational range means how far it can driver on its own engine and not the range of the shells fired. second off in addition tot he range extended ammunition you have mentioned there is also suborbital ammunition available with a range of about 122 km.
i do believe the 420km operational range refers to the range in which the vehicle can operate on. as in if you fill up the fuel tank and an additional fuel it cam carry that is the range it can travel without further logistics. perhaps i am wrong on this understanding but that is what i gained from this.
the only problem with the german guns are that they are maintenance pigs (over 40% in maintenance at any time) and they blow up the crew at random due to the barrels. you’d think the amazing german industry could make more precise barrels so they don’t lose crews.
well if you fire at maximum range and maximum rate of fire, barrels gonna atritt quickly.
