Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said Friday that the Netherlands is sending a Patriot missile defense system to Slovakia and that Germany is also sending two Patriot systems as NATO looks to bolster its forces near Ukraine.
The Dutch will send a small contingent of 150-200 troops along with the Patriots. Ollongren’s announcement comes after Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad said on Thursday that Slovakia was ready to “immediately” send its Soviet-designed S-300 missile system to Ukraine if it receives a “proper replacement.”

These “peacekeeping” Nato force just made it clear to the world that peace is the last thing on their agenda- Why send more weapons? To kill more Russians? To prolong the conflict? And from videos seen online, it looks like Ukraine has invested billions in military gears as if they where preparing for this and maybe on greater scale. The Ukrainian armed forces are dealing significant blows to the Russian armed forces, while Ukrainians are abandoning the sieged cities and seek shelter in the western part of the country and finding refuge in peaceful welcoming European cities. Indeed, whatever Russia is attempting to take of eastern Ukraine are going to be empty cities devoid if economic life, devoid of its Ukrainian workforce, reduced to a urban jungle where Ukrainian insurgency is going to burry the invading hordes of the eastern armies for many many years. Ukrainian refugees are well needed in the West, who’s prosperous and productive economy has millions of jobs waiting for the people displaced by this senseless Russian war, and they will be able to rebuild their lives. Eastern Ukraine is going to be reduced to scorched earth, to prove to the narcissistic dictator that it’s pointless to try to take over a country without the consent of its population. Eastern Ukraine will become the graveyard of the Russian federation, just like Afghanistan was the graveyard of the Soviet Union. The eastern republics of the Russian federation, extremely rich in natural resources and with a low population are going to realize that it’s better to break away from Moscow and pursue their own path, rather than to be controlled, exploited and kept poor by the Kremlin autocrat. In the meanwhile Ukrainians are going to continue to fight this war against Russia, on behalf of the free democratic world, and the rich and developed west are going to supply Ukraine with weapons, money and ammunition for as long as possible. The Russians have only begun to die.

You are misinterpreting Russia motives here. Not to take over Ukraine as society or to convince Ukrainians, but to neutralize Ukrainian military capabilities in order not to create a tangible threat.

I am yet to see these Patriots intercept something. I hear the only recorded intercept was one Scud missile over Iraq in 1991. That’s it.
