Germany would speed up deportation processes of refugees

Refugees in Munich’s Bayernkasern

A lot of pressure has been put over the head of German government, Chancellor Angela Merkel because of the handling of refugee situation.

Disputes among the different ruling parties of the country have pushed Merkel to announce an agreement on setting up three to five reception centers nationwide to help expediting processes of deportation or acceptance of refugees asking for asylum in Germany.

Horst Seehofer of the CSU Party praised Merkel’s decision alleging efforts of local governments on the struggle to mitigate overwhelming asylum-seekers influx in the country.

At the same time, the agreement has been criticized by members of the Party of Democratic Socialism who qualify it as a further violation to refugees’ rights.

Also, Robert Habeck from the Green Party expressed his doubts on how this new reception centers will carry out the process regarding asylum-seekers within just a few weeks alleging that now refugees have to wait about six months for their requests to be submitted.

Pressure over German government also comes from the nearby countries that have been claiming that Merkel’s open-door policy for refugees has been affecting them as well.
