On August 18th, a Russian-made Mi-17 helicopter was reportedly abandoned by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA) near Sirte, after crash landing.
It was reportedly captured by the forces of Turkey and the Government of National Accord.

The helicopter was transported to the Libyan army-dominated town of Abu Qurayn on the Sirte border.
Separately, all oil ports in Libya are reportedly about to be reopened.
Major General Naji al-Maghribi, the commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guard made the announcement. This came after a meeting with a member of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Jadallah Al-Awakli and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Gulf Oil Company, Muhammad bin Shatwan.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas called on GNA President Fayez al-Sarraj to work towards a permanent ceasefire in Libya and the demilitarization of Sirte and Jufra.
The Turkish Presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin said that Turkey may “in principle” accept Germany’s call.

Essentially, this is showing how much any decision-making ability is being taken away from GNA and is being transferred into Turkish hands.
