The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Tiger Forces have liberated the town of Busra al-Harir from militants in the southern Syrian province of Daraa, according to pro-government sources.
According to Russian journalist Eugene Poddubny, government forces captured 5 battle tanks abandoned by militants in the town.
The success in Busra al-Harir comes after the full liberation of the Lajat district in the northeastern part of the province of Daraa, which took place on June 25.
The SAA and the Tiger Forces are developing their advance.

I’m sure that’s true, but that is what recovery and repair is all about. The Syrian war may continue for who knows how long. If it takes a few months to have these tanks ready for deployment, that’s still a good thing. The Orcs can only get new equipment in the field via foreign deliveries now. In a long “War of Attrition”, logistics is key.
Israel recovered its tanks that were knocked out of action in Lebanon. Most of the posters have never served in the military, and think everything is brand new. A single RPG grenade is worth a grand a piece, war is very money hungry.

Maybe the tanks were captured in working order due to the speed of the SAA advance and there was no time to disable them. If they are sabotaged, they can still be used for spare parts in the SAA tank workshop. Eitherway they can no longer be used against the SAA.
Even if they need repair, or are used as a source of parts, they are valuable. Not everybody has unlimited wealth to buy new weapons

They weren’t in the town at all, they were about 4 km to the north sitting out in an open field, and presumably unattended as there was no mention of a battle there. The article also fails to mention which group they belonged to but I suspect they may have been HTS’s. Since there were no reports of the SAA destroying any other tanks in this immediate area, and these 5 weren’t active when they were captured, I suspect they’ve been scavenged for parts to help HTS in Idlib. That might explain why they were just sitting out in the open and unattended. But the 5 captured tanks aren’t the best part of this mini victory, they also managed to kill a white helmet volunteer, that’s the part I liked most.
