According to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued its advance north of the Homs-Palmyra road in the eastern Homs countryside where it had launched an attack from its positions east of Jabab Hamad and managed to capture Al-Alam Hill south of Taliaa al-Gharbia.
Meanwhile, the Russian Air Force carried out airstrikes on ISIS targets, destroying two ISIS combat units in the Jib al-Abyad area in the eastern Salamya countryside.
The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaq published photos of an attack by ISIS fighters on SAA positions in the vicinity of the Al-Musheirefah Hill in the eastern Homs countryside where two Syrian soldiers were killed.
Another video was published showing the previous ISIS attack on SAA positions in Wadi Al-Wa’r. The video showed the three Syrian soldiers captured by ISIS during its attack.
From its side, the SAA said that it had repelled the ISIS attack on its points west of the Hamima area in the province of Deir Ezzor. Furthermore the Hezbollah media wing in Syria said that the SAA killed 30 of ISIS fighters and injured more than 50 others during the clashes near Hamima. Sources from the SAA confirmed that SAA had not lost any point near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
According to local sources, government forces are going to resume the operation in the eastern Hama countryside within days. The SAA and its allies will attack Al-Aqerbar, one the most important ISIS strongholds in the area. The sources also said that Desert Hawks will participate in the operation again.
