On January 6, the Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces, led by the Tiger Forces, captured the villages of Sarja and Umm al-Halahel near the militant strong point of Sinjar in southern Idlib, according to pro-government sources.
If this is confirmed by photos and videos, this will mean that government troops are now deployed within a striking distance from Sinjar. This town is considered a one of the key defense positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formelry Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allies in southern Idlib.
Well the claims are true as this is also reported by the MoD and carried in SANA and other publications.
