According to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies seized several strategic positions near the Hill 23 in the southern countryside of Ithriya in the eastern part of Hama province. During its advance, the SAA killed a number of ISIS fighters, including a field commander Abu Qaqaa.
It’s worth noting that government forces captured the Hill 23 near Ithriya on July 5 .
In eastern Homs countrysid, the SAA captured some hills and points 8km in southwest of Sukhna town. It looks like the SAA is planning to encircle Sukhna before storming it, just like it did before in Maskhanah and Der Hafer.
From its side, ISIS continued its attacks on SAA un multuple frontlines. ISIS allegedly destroyed two SAA vehicles south of the Al-Heel field in the eastern Homs countryside. Moreover, ISIS fighters launched an attack on SAA positions in the village of Anbaj in the southern Raqqa countryside, but SAA managed to repel the attack.

The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaq published photos that show a ISIS armed drone attack on SAA positions west of Deir Ezzor. The attack destroyed fortifications at the positions. However, an SAA source said that no soldier was killed as a result of the attack.

The SAA has been deploying reinforcements to the Sukhna front in the eastern Homs countryside where the SAA is preparing to launch a final attack on the strategic town soon. The SAA is planning to lift the ISIS siege of Deir Ezzor through advancing in the southern Tabqah countryside and along the Raqqa-Deir Ezzor highway.
The Elite Republican Guard 800th Regiment will participate at the Souknah front line. All the other SAA and allies units incl. the 5th corps will be happy about the appearance of this battle hardened men.
