I think what Mountains is saying is that the US will move the SDF south towards Deir Ezzor. They are actually not that far already. Of course this will also relieve the SAA who should be able to take most of the rest of the urban areas that they dont currently hold. However it will mean US controlled forces on the east bank of the Euphrates opposite. They may also attempt to move to the west bank and surroud the SAA forces.
SDF , at least the Kurdish part of it , are very territorial , and Dier Ezzor is too far south of their traditional territory . If you look at a map and draw a line between Aleppo and Monsul , the Kurdish territory is above , or north of that line , in Syria . Maybe the US can bribe them , but I’ve heard rumors they have been disobeying American orders .
The SDF has no desire or plans to go any further in the south since that region is of no importance to Kurds and other regional Arab tribes fighting with them. The USA & Great Britain cleared out ISIS from the border area and T2 station/airbase/highway so those chicken shit SAA militias could sweep down into uncontested territory and declare great victories then get their asses kicked when ISIS counterattacks from the Valley.

Pipelines require pumps placed along their routes to push the contents thru to their destinations. T2 is placed where an Iraqi pipeline carrying light crude and a Syrian collection pipeline containing very heavy sour crude meet. There the two grades of crude are mixed then sent up to the T3 station where more collection lines from the Deir Azzor fields tie into the pipeline. Natural gas pipelines use compressors to push the gas where it needs to go. Those run on natural gas so can be placed anywhere they want.
