Following the liberation of Uqayribat in the eastern Hama countryside, Syrian government forces liberated Zaghrutiyah, Um Ma’our, Kherbet Haywaniyah and Qur Tahin.
ISIS responded with a counter-attack against government troops in the town of Uqayribat and engaged the army and its allies in a series of firefights. ISIS used suicide bombers during the attack. However, the terrorist group was not able to re-capture the strategic town.

Better prepare for another agreement to be evacuated to Deir Ezzor. As long as there still is a Daesh presence in DE, …. and that the USA can find another excuse to bomb roads ahead of the SAA advances towards DE.
That agreement was between Hezbollah and ISIS though, not the Syrian government. Which couldn’t really object because its dependent on Hezbollah as a military ally.
Indeed, but it is actually blocking SAA, it’s just a chessboard move to shine in the media and to “help” those who fight Daesh. We know this sort of help all too well.
If the USA go that far to really bomb down the convoy, we will see. It would be clear murder, as the main part of the convoy is civilians, no matter if we like that they are affiliated with Daesh.
My source just informed me that ISIS recaptured part of Uqayribat. A very intense fighting is going on at the moment in different locals of the town. ISIS used women and children for their VBIED attacks on the positions of SAA, who suffered large casualties as usual. This is where some Russian soldiers were killed as well. The problem is that SAA as usual is always fast in announcing capture of towns and villages before entirely securing them. This has to stop. ISIS tactics of late is pretending to withdraw, allowing government troops to enter and then VBIEDing them bad and reconquer. Something has to be done.
