On January 16, government forces recaptured 8 villages from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and other militant groups in southern Aleppo and southeastern Idlib.
In southern Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies restored control over Marhamiyah, Uwaynat Kabirah, Mash and Tal Mash. Meanwhile, government forces regained Tal Maraq, Tal Jaduyah, Saloumiyah and Sham Hawa from militants in southern Idlib.
Despite this, the situation in the area of Abu al-Duhur remained tense. The SAA’s counter-attack prevented the militnats’ attempt to isolate army troops deployed south of the Abu al-Duhur Airbase, but Hayat Tahrir al-Sham kept enough forces to continue pressuring governemnt troops there.

It may look like a back and forth battle of attrition, but in reality these are the “last stand” desperation gasps of Qaida and Daesh in Syria. International support for these vermin has waned considerably. It’s time that NATO and the Ottomans recognize the reality and withdraw their occupying forces and cease their support of terrorism.

The Turkey is being a hypocrite in calling on Syria to stop it’s actions in Idlib as it is dealing with excluded groups from the Deescalation zone and those that are supporting it are in breach. The Turks are attacking Afrin which is part of the deescalation zone of which they say they are dealing with Terrorists only in Turkish eyes and not the worlds.
