The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have retaken from ISIS terrorists the village of Bir al-Fawairah south of the government-held Tiyas Airbase in the province of Homs.
Government forces are now developing an advance in the direction of Bayt Jarbu Alazw.
why are they moving in the direction of Palmyra and not the gas fields? eastern homs gas fields are the key here, palmyra already was devastated, though people in damascus and around it will still need gas to cook food, heat up their homes etc. cmon ISIS was in eastern homs for ages, only small villages there and ltos of open ground, is it so extremely difficult to launch an offensive in that direction? I beleive that capturing the 45 highway should be done first before Palmyra, sure it may not be very fast and won’t be a victory of such fame as recapture of palmyra, but far more people would benefit from it.
