Syrian government forces are rapidly advancing against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allied militant groups in northern Hama.
Early on April 3, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces and the National Defense Forces (NDF) advanced on militants in Maardes and fully liberated this important town. The development was confirmed by the Syrian military.
The village of Iskanderiyah also fell into the hands of government forces. The Syrian Arab Army and the NDF also got control of the areas of Tal Zaydan and Abu Dhour.
Government forces are now developing an advance in the direction of the town of Suran captured by militants in March.

So 90 percent of the rebel gains are reversed . Souran will also be liberated today or tomorrow . And I love how the rebel supporters 1 week ago were so happy and claimed Hama we are coming and now nothing . Rebels made gains because the forces in the villages were incompetent and not much . Example – Qomha has around 700 defenders . In the village rebels captured they had around 40 per 1.
It’s really the same thing as always with these people. Make a large-scale attack without air support, take a few lightly-defended outposts then get stopped and bombed to bits the moment SAA deploys its artillery and air support.
They still think we are 2015 and that Hama is Idlib . The rebels cant win anymore . They launch this offensive to show that they are still alive . It is time for their backers to stop sponsoring them with weapons . This is just prolonging the war . Close Bab Al Hawa border crossing as first step
The terrorists made gains because it was only local militias with little armor against 10 k terrorists with tanks etc, What do you expect to happen. They SAA have very long front lines and can’t be expected to guard every inch of it with the forces needed to repel an advance of 10k terrorists with tanks etc.
I hope this time SAA at least goes Al Latamiah . Otherwise we can see 8th Hama offensive by the rebels
For a while they will probably be having problems back in Idlib, now that they are soundly defeated. Hopefully infighting.
It is coming I think . There are reports that HTS is withdrawing from the frontline . And it is preparing to disband the FSA groups in this offensive
Now SAA must not stop until they reach Idlib province and liberate whole Hama province, then will also frontline be smaller
