On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies surrounded the ISIS-held town of Sukhna from the southern, southeastern and southwestern directions in the eastern part of Homs province.

According to pro-government sources, the SAA captured the eastern part of the Mount Altnotor, which overlooking Sukhna and established a firecontrol over the town. The SAA and tribal forces also launched a direct attack on the town’s southwestern and western entrances.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria reported that earlier the SAA and its allies repelled an attack by a group of ISIS fighters near Sukhna town and managed to kill the entire group of ISIS members.
From its side ISIS claimed that 20 Syrian soldiers were killed as a result of the VBIED attack on a SAA position west of Sukhna. ISIS also claimed that another 11 Syrian soldiers were killed as a result of clashes west of Sukhna.
The ISIS-linked News Agency Amaq also published a video that shows Syrian soldiers being targeted by an ISIS armed drone near the Al-Hail field in the eastern Homs countryside.
ISIS fighters are expected to withdraw from Sukhna town after the SAA captures the key highpoints around it. It will be much more difficult for ISIS to defend the area if the SAA captures the whole Mount Altnotor.
These are good solid gains this will further pressure IS , they could close them off or let them be attacked out in the open desert ,either way they need to be eliminated. Keep up the pressure on the flanks guys.
