Following the previous advances, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies liberated the villages of Aksh, Jaberiyah and Wadhihi and advanced on Nashimi inside the ISIS-held pocket east of Salamiyah city.
If the SAA recaptured Nashimi from ISIS, government troops will divide the ISIS pocket into two separate parts. This will be a major blow to ISIS in the area that will likely be a sign of total collapse of the ISIS defense.
According to pro-government sources, the pocket is already divided into separate parts. However, the gains still have to be secured.
