Syrian government forces have liberated about 135km2 from US-backed militant groups in southeastern Syria, according to pro-government sources.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies took control over the Um Izn hills located east of the pocket formally controlled by the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA). Indeed, this pocket is mostly a desret area with few very small settlements. However, the SAA does not have enough resources to conduct a large-scale security operation there. So, it remains “under the control” of the FSA.

kudos to the superheroes from the russian led coalition … God bless forever

RTA (Bob or Al)

I am sorry if this sound pedantic, but I am changing something in your post.

“kudos to the superheroes from the Syria led coalition”

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

1500 dead ISIS from Iraq from being encircled and bombed by Russian ASForces and Syrian AAF Syrian Allies.

RTA (Bob or Al)

Well the article was wrong.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

There were 2 regions they attacked one was along the DE-As Sukhna Highway and the other was towards al Mayadin – DE and that is where that slaughter took place. Sukhna-T3 had 45 dead ISIS terrorists and scores wounded one small squad wiped out an entire Apc full of Daesh no survivors another destroyed another Apc full in the desert and there were many dead scattered in retreating. Amaq blew that one for propaganda and the Tiger forces pushing the west bank had run into the 1500 in a valley and caught them in a cauldron with heavy air assault and artillery strikes.

RTA (Bob or Al)

We shall agree to disagree; otherwise this will go on for a long time.

Once you start talking about the Russian wins, then you lose the focus of the Country they are helping and their gigantic input + you give food for the rats in America.

Russia were invited, maybe begged by Syria; but this is still Syria.

In Syria – Russia is their ally, not the other way around.

PS and I say that with the greatest respect for both and indeed Iran and Hezbollah + others.

PPS I know my stance sounds daft, but it important however minor it is.

Russia has the most air assets until Syria can get more trained pilots and aircraft they will always need Russia air assets. Iran and Hezbollah are being targeted better to keep them in the back, but point at the SAA as the real army to contend with. ISIS can only hit small units and they are not very effective at all anymore as the best tactic is to regroup and counter attack they don’t expect that very much and are always high on captagon. The US using the ISIS fear factor is becoming over used and no longer a threat as they can’t handle equal size forces anymore.

The US wants to blame Iran when it is the reformed SAA which has played an important part in the destruction of ISIS, they try to use every type of psyche war nonsense and it needs to be put in perspective. Here you see the trolls using their same old schtick and mantra it gets very boring, when you know what you are looking at. Had a teachers who taught about propaganda and it’s use during periods of war that was basic in literature and history in school just as consumer law was.

Puke puke.

LOL! The FSA/USA pulls out after ISIS is no longer a threat and the Sissy Arab Army moves in declaring it as a great victory!

Small tactical gain, potentially large strategic loss.

Go on SAA.

SAA=Russia, you are doing quite well; You 2 need to re-capture all of Syrian oil fields asap! We are behind you; We pray for good physical and mental health on the battle field. Good luck

Deo Cass

So! Worthless piece of land full of sand and rocks! Is that going to feed the Syrian people? These are wasted energies and resources for the Syrian government forces which should instead be concentrated on the Easern banks of the Euphrates river to reclaim the Syrian oil and gas fields to feed the Syrian people and help them recover from the direct and proxy US/Zionist unprovoked aggression, invasion and occupation of Syrian sovereign land. Iran and Hezbollah should help Syria reclaim its sovereignty, authority and territorial integrity all over Syria and forget about Russian help. Russia is unable, unwilling, afraid or both to help the Syrian government face the true enemies of Syria, the Zio/Nazi Western colonial imperialist terror groups and their Kurdish SDF/ISIS proxies. Hezbollah and Iran have both faced the Zionist/US aggression before and won. They are the real heroes of the Syrian people’s struggle against the Zio/Nazi brutal colonial tyranny’s designs to invade and steal Syrian sovereign land and loot its natural resources.

dutchnational

Fully agreed.

Another strategic blunder.

SAA still thinking to be doing well when trading a small irelevant tactical gain for a potential much larger strategic loss.

But as a pro SDF commenter, I have no problems with strategic blunders of the SAA, though it make me wonder about the guys in charge there.
