Late on August 10, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Tiger Forces liberated the villages of Maghar al-Hamam and Maghar al-Hantah from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and its allies.
Earlier on the same day, government forces liberated the area of Tal Sukayk and advanced on the village of Sukayk, where clashes have been still ongoing.
In a separate development, the SAA and the 4th Armoured Division advanced on the village of Kbani in northern Lattakia. However, they were not able to break militants’ defense there.
The developments of August 10 demonstrate that the SAA is set to develop its military operation against radical militants in the southern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone despite a wide criticism by Western diplomats and mainstream media.

The Russian goal has always been to make Idlib a cauldron. It’s hard to prove a negative, but so many potential terrorist threats against Russia will perish in Idlib.
Good, this the best news I have heard in a while that and the infighting in Yemen between Saudi and UAE backed thugs. It also looks like Russia is quietly and slowly accepting the fact that two faced Turkey is not worth continued courting, since the Turkish spat with the U.S. is phony. Hopefully this means no more cease fires and ignoring any Turkish or Western bitching about Idlib.

Either Turkey is with or against Russia, USA will not intervene because all shit happens in Syria, not Turkey. So, goal is that Turkey expel SDF and replace them with their proxies. USA gave only promises, or threats, nothing more.

The SAA strategy is sound and as I posted 2 days ago, cutting of the Turkeys supply route for terrorists on north-south axis road 5 is the key. A mere 2 kms pincer advance will expose the road to ATGM and mortar fire and the Turkeys are cooked. The SAA has learnt a lot on how to fight smart engagements using the advantage of local knowledge and terrain. Kudos from a professional point of view.
