Govt Forces Clash With Kurdish Militias Amid Israeli Strikes On Central Syria

On April 21, clashes broke out in the city of Qamishly between the Kurdish Asayish, a security force of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the pro-government National Defense Forces.

Local sources claim that NDF units tried to capture several Asayish positions in the city, but failed to do so. Both sides allegedly suffered no casualties. The situation de-escalated rapidly after the Russian Military Police deployed in a nearby area intervened .

On April 16, an Asayish checkpoint in the city was attacked with two hand grenades allegedly thrown by NDF members.

The current escalation is reportedly the result of disagreements between local NDF and Asayish commanders. Nonetheless, it should be noted that Qamishly city is infamous for regular clashes and tensions between the NDF and the SDF’s Asayish. The Kurdish group is trying to establish full control of the city and does not like the fact that the Damascus government has strong support there. In their turn NDF units seek to push back the creeping advance of the Kurdish force, which they see as a betrayer of Syrian national interests because of its open cooperation with foreign occupants – i.e.the United States.

The Russian Military Police and the Turkish Army held a limited joint patrol on the M4 highway in southern Idlib. From the Russian side the patrol involved two BTR-82A armoured personnel carriers and a Tiger armoured vehicle, while from the Turkish side four BMC Kirpi MRAPs took part. The movement of the Russian-Turkish convoy was monitored by unmanned aerial vehicles of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

This was the fifth limited Russian-Turkish patrol held in the framework of the Turkish-Russian Idlib agreement reached on March 5. The area of the patrols serves as a visual demonstration of the lack of progress made in the creation of the safe zone along the M4 highway in southern Idlib and in the removal of radical militants from it.

Later on the same day, the Syrian Army shelled positions of al-Qaeda-linked Hayat Tharir al-Sham near the village of Tell Afis, located near the government-controlled town of Saraqib. Pro-government sources say that militants are concentrating forces there in preparation of an advance to capture Saraqib.

Late on April 20, the Israeli Air Force carried out airstrikes on several supposedly Iranian targets in the province of Homs.  Syrian Air Defence systems responded to the attack by intercepting several missiles. However, according to open data, at least 3 Syrian service members died as a result of the incident. So, at least some of the Israeli strikes hit their targets.

It’s been nice while it’s lasted but the delusion of cooperating with Zioterrorist-aligned Kurds in NE Syria can only go on for so long. Kurds were there with Ziodi Arabia, the US, ISISrael, France, UK, Qatar, etc., when “Islamic Front”, FSA, etc,. were trying to invade and occupy all of Syria and calling Assad a butcher while headchopping left and right on the areas they’d invaded from Aleppo to Daraa. With the latest Zioterrorist order to attack Iranian ships in the Persian gulf the situation must naturally escalate elsewhere in the region and Syria must be ready for that, as should the Russians despite Moscow’s pro-Zion weakness.

Maybe it’s time for a full-blown airbase in Qamishli.

Another orgastic outbreake from You. As usual we dont see the brain but only the big mouth needing a dentist or two.

JIMI JAMES

Thats to be expected needing to see dentists, with good fuel prices shove that beaut mechanical injected f5000 spec engine, all the fillings fall, but that mean one is dumb, because atleast one knew the cause of the problem, and the viable solutions like remove the teeth or heavy duty fillings,if that british company allows decent material?

Hos Ng

You are more right than wrong unfortunatly. We all understand that those that bombed syria under trumped up charges are your same 911 terrorists.

Icarus Tanović

Great, just keep on pounding them Wahhabi abominations.

gustavo

As always, Syria was waiting for the missiles to shot them down, instead of shuting down Israel planes.

Hummmmm……

Hadi Heidary

if western countries stop whispering to kurds about independent kurdistan and stop trying to divide syria, there wouldn’t be such conflicts.

Hos Ng

Ending the warmongering oil thief mafia should be everyone’s priority, at home and at large. In the west as well as the east.

Jens is a paid troll pushing disinformation, has several accounts, argues with himself and should be completely ignored. Thanks

Willing Conscience (The Truths

So the capital city of the US administered self autonomous zone is becoming a battleground, on one side we have the Syriac Christians and the other minorities that are supported by the SDC, SDF, and the US, and on the other side we have the Iranian backed and supported NDF militias that fight for Assad, but the NDF have a multitude of different militias operating under the NDF banner, and I’d like to know which one it is that seems to have such a big problem with the Christians in Al Hasakah. And why has the SAA just arrested more than a dozen Hezbollah fighters in the town of Hattala just east of Deir ez Zor, I wonder what they did wrong, obviously they did something Assad didn’t approve of. So if you’re one of the mindless idiots that’s mindlessly assuming that the NDF is attacking the Christians on Assad’s orders you’re totally insane, Assad has very little control over what the NDF militias do, Iran’s the one we have to ask, the NDF do Iran’s bidding more than they obey Assad’s wishes. Surely the Russians must be getting sick and tired of intervening in all the disputes between the Iranians and the US, it’s turning out to be a full time occupation lately, if the US gets sick of it and decides to intervene in southern Deir ez Zor I don’t think the Russians will do anything to stop them, so Iran had better watch out, it’s getting to a point of no return now.

Here’s some Kurdish news that elaborates on the why how and where, so if you don’t trust Kurdish news don’t bother reading it, but this is the real way to tell this story, SF gives us only 1% of the facts and lets us make up all the rest, that’s not really the news, just propaganda. —–

“ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (K24) – Syrian Regime fighters exchanged fire with Kurdish forces (Asayish) on Wednesday in Qamishli in a rare clash between the two sides. “Tensions erupted late Tuesday when a drunk regime fighter began shooting at Kurdish traffic police in the city of Qamishli. In return, the Kurdish internal security forces, known as Asayish, arrested that drunk fighter with eleven fighters of the National Defense Forces (pro-regime militia),” a K24 reporter said. Responding in kind, National Defense Forces on Wednesday arrested two traffic police members of the Kurdish forces in Alwahda Street in Qamishli, and in return Asayish detained nine other National Defense Forces fighters, thus a clash took place between the two sides,” a K24 reporter stated. “For settling the dispute, the arrested 20 members of the National Defense Forces had been released in the evening,” an officer of the Asayish told K24. On Thursday, a group of National Defense Forces in Khaleej Street in Qamishli attacked Asayish patrol. Asayish shot them back and killed two National Defense Forces fighters. . “While Rojava Asayish forces attempt not to escalate the situation in Qamishli, and in order to preserve the security of citizens, the Syrian regime militias escalated the situation and clashed with Alasayish forces and injured an Alasayish member,” a statement on the Asayish official website said. The statement also said a National Defense patrol attacked an Asayish patrol in Khaleej Street, where the clash occurred between the two forces, and thus two members of the National Defense Forces were killed. “It is noteworthy that the situation is still the same because of national defense attempts to escalate the situation,” the statement concluded. Qamishli, in Hasakeh province, is under the shared control of the Syrian regime and Kurdish authorities, who have declared zones of “autonomous administration” across parts of north and northeast Syria.”

just get the jews out of palestine and into the next life and you will see peace in the middle east like never before,

David Parker

I’ll be glad when the SAA is strong enough to resist the IDF. It will be a fine day when the Syrian Air Defence systems respond by shooting down IAF aircraft. I would love to see the IAF pilots forced to bail out and be captured.
