Greater Idlib: Syrian Army Strikes Kill Three Militants Of HTS, TIP (Photos, Videos)

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continues to target militants violating the ceasefire in the northwestern region of Greater Idlib.

On November 24 morning, the army fired more than 40 rockets and artillery rounds at militants’ positions around the towns of Kafr Taal and Tadil in the western Aleppo countryside.

The intense strikes claimed the life of a fighter of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). The terrorist group is the de-facto ruler of Greater Idlib.

In the afternoon, the army targeted a position of the al-Qaeda-linked Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) in the town of Ain La Rose in the southern countryside of Idlib with Russian-made 2K25 Krasnopol laser-guided artillery rounds.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, two militants of the TIP were killed in the pinpoint strike.

The ceasefire in Greater Idlib, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey last year, is being violated on a daily basis by the militants.

With Turkish forces in Greater Idlib doing nothing to stop these violations, the SAA and its allies are taking matters into their own hands. The situation in the region will not likely stabilize until terrorist groups like HTS and the TIP are neutralized.

That seems like a pretty intense shelling by the SAA. They must have been targeting structures housing the terrorists. If they were firing laser guided Krasnopol artillery rounds, they must have had an artillery position setup as much as 3 miles from the targeted area?

Wikipedia says the following: “The 2K25 Krasnopol system[11] consists of the 30F39 guided shell, a 1D22, 1D20, or 1D15 laser target designator (LTD), and the 1A35 shot synchronization system. The laser designation system has a range of 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), while the projectile itself has a range of 20 kilometres (12 mi)[12] and a target seeker radius of 1 kilometre (0.62 mi).[11] The two-part projectile is divided into the following sections: target seeker, guidance module, warhead and rear compartment. The seeker and guidance module are stored as a single component in sealed container, as is the rear section with warhead; this allows the oversized projectile to be loaded and transported inside existing ammunition containers in legacy self-propelled howitzers. The two components are joined immediately prior to firing.”

Interesting stuff, I wonder how long it took the SAA to setup the artillery position, and target the area, after receiving intelligence on where to strike.

Thats 5 km just for saa spotter to aim his laser to the target or from drone, they shot using the artillery way far in the area above 5 km or atleast they outside range of those terrorist simple rocket artillery
